Give your best, and do it with a smile!
'Every man shall give as he is able.' Deuteronomy 16:17
There are over 2,000 Scriptures in the Bible on money and giving. Check out Deuteronomy 16:17 and 2 Corinthians 9:7 as just two examples of passages that are relevant to all Christians - even you! Now, you may be thinking "but I don't have much money - only my pocket money, allowance, or a bit from my Saturday job". That may be true, but no matter how much money you have - or haven't - got, these passages are still important.
Firstly, you need to recognise that whatever you have, God still asks you to cheerfully give with it. That doesn't mean you have to give every penny away - it just means don't be selfish with it and keep it all for yourself. Think about putting a bit in the collection at church, or giving to a charity who you think do good work, because you want to help.
Secondly, these passages aren't just talking about money. Think about all the other things God has given you - gifts, talents, skills - and think about the ways you could use those 'as you are able', and how you can give of those gifts cheerfully. That may mean offering to help with the Sunday school or kids church, if you're good with kids, or singing in the band if God's given you a good voice, or helping serve tea if you've got a gift of hospitality. So have a think today - how can you give with a smile on your face?
