Sure, you can be the witness for Jesus, if only through your godly lifestyle. I have an online friend named Hasan. He is muslim and a bit more spiritual than most of the muslims I know of. We talk about our faith from time to time. I hope my prayers and our interaction produce fruit in his life.
 
I was close friends with a Muslim girl I worked with for 5 years. We would often discuss, I would always try convert her.

I have never been close friends with a Muslim guy. But I think I could. Most good people in Islam are bad Muslims, and therefore decent people.

Any 'God fearing' person is better than an ungodly person who is not even trying to live an upright life.

Many Muslim men in the West fled the East in order to give their daughters a better life. They would never consummate a marriage with an under age girl, like Muhammad (53) did with a young baby, Aisha (6) who then told his friend Jabir to do likewise.

So, yes, for sure, Christians can have Muslim friends as long as they are bad Muslims who completely and utterly ignore all Muhammad taught.
