You say, "I am allowed to do anything"--but not everything is good for you. You say, "I am allowed to do anything"--but not everything is beneficial. 1 Corinthians 10:23

When you come by faith to accept God’s rescue there’s nothing you can do to earn His saving offer. You simply believe God can do what you can’t. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.”

You can’t earn your place in God’s family. This gift is not for sale. He offers forgiveness long after you accept His rescue. This can lead some to believe God doesn’t care about behavior or life choices. Ephesians 2:10 clears that up: “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

God has good things planned for your life. Those plans didn’t include you sitting on the sidelines. He wants you to participate in life transformation through obedience and new thinking that aligns with His. God gave you liberty so you’re free to do what He created you to do. God gave you His Spirit so you could learn to accept His best.

Come to God with nothing. Move forward with purpose.
