I was raised in a family with difficult circumstances, so I left home at the age of 17
Until the age of 22 I did what I had to do in order survive, needless at that time my faith in the lord was not strong.
I worked a lot, was very lonely and met all the wrong men.
I am ashamed to admit I've done a lot of sins, I would not blame the men I met because it was my responsibly to protect my body and soul, but I was young and felt abandoned by everyone - my parents, my friends and god as well.

When I turned 22 I met a guy, the best guy I ever met, he showed me the way, showed me how real love should look like, explained to me that a'll I've been through was a test from God, that God is strongest for us in our most difficult moments, today I'm in such different place in my life thanks to him, thanks to Jesus.

Just sometimes it is hard for me to believe that God will forgive me after all my sins, I want to be a good wife and mother and I pray every day God will give me strength to do that

God forgives, even fornication.

1 Cor 6:9; Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
1 Cor 6:10; nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Cor 6:11; Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

Jesus forgives those with mistakes in their pasts. That's why He came.

Luke 7:39; Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he said to himself, "If this man were a prophet He would know who and what sort of person this woman is who is touching Him, that she is a sinner."
Luke 7:40; And Jesus answered him, "Simon, I have something to say to you." And he replied, "Say it, Teacher."
Luke 7:41; "A moneylender had two debtors: one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
Luke 7:42; "When they were unable to repay, he graciously forgave them both. So which of them will love him more?"
Luke 7:43; Simon answered and said, "I suppose the one whom he forgave more." And He said to him, "You have judged correctly."
Luke 7:44; Turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.
Luke 7:45; "You gave Me no kiss; but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss My feet.

Often those with many mistakes in their pasts are the ones who love Jesus more. It sounds like your heart is in the right place, and you have confessed your sin.

1 Jn 1:9; If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Heb 10:16; "THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART, AND ON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM," He then says,
Heb 10:17; "AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE."

Sometimes reading this is comforting when we are feeling past guilt.

Psa 103:1; A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
Psa 103:2; Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits;
Psa 103:3; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases;
Psa 103:4; Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
Psa 103:5; Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
Psa 103:6; The LORD performs righteous deeds And judgments for all who are oppressed.
Psa 103:7; He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the sons of Israel.
Psa 103:8; The LORD is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.
Psa 103:9; He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever.
Psa 103:10; He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
Psa 103:11; For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him.
Psa 103:12; As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
Psa 103:13; Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.

Hello @Helen Kelly

Welcome to the community. Thank GOD you're in a better place now and as BAC said, GOD does forgive fornication indeed. Jesus loves you and paid the price long ago. I hope you enjoy this community and it uplifts you.

God wants us to love Him and our fellow humans. Of course that love spoken of is not sexual in nature. But God is pleased that you have turned away from your past sins in this matter. He was glad when you returned to Him and He doesnt want you to focus on the past, other than the good wisdom you learned from it, but rather the present mostly and the future some. Stay in the present mostly sister, for if you let the chains of past sins drag along behind you, you will not be able to run the race set before us. Serve the Lord now, for the past is gone, and the future is not here yet.

Guilt is a gift from God, without which we would be as they that think they sin not. The character of humility is the greatest virtue of the Christian, and God knows the reins and heart, and who they are that are sincere toward Him. We see the character in John the Baptist saying "I am unworthy to even stoop down and unloosen His shoe latches"; or Peter saying "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man O Lord"; or even the centurion saying "I am unworthy that He should enter under my roof"; or Paul saying "I am less than the least of all saints". And behold, we now have your testimony to the glory of God. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Thank you all so much for your replies and support.

You're right the past is gone, I have to focus at the present for the sake of the future, I can't really talk with my current friends or neighbours so I thought an online community will be easier to share with.

1 John 1
8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we will just confess our sins, he will forgive us just the same.

Romans 8
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died--more than that, who was raised--who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?

That being said. We are not free from the consequences of the actions of our past, even if it was done in ignorance or weakness. Although we are totally forgiven by God, we still have to deal with a lot of the junk we brought into our lives in the past. God uses the consequences of our past sins to teach us a lot of stuff, like reliance on him, and fear of sin and rebellion towards God. If we didn't have any consequences for our actions, we wouldn't be very disciplined. But, God makes all things new, sometimes he just takes His sweet time doing it =D.

Be of good cheer, if you belong to Jesus, some day you will walk in white and shine like the stars. We won't be thinking about any of these things on that day.

  • God bless you journey! I am not arguing with you, for who really knows such a perfect God, but I am not convinced that God causes any of our problems. He did say though, that we would all have our trails and tribulations. I think that he more allows them to happen rather than causes them. These are good because, when we discover that we can't control them alone, we are drawn to him.
  • I am thankful for your testimony and your spiritual journey with Jesus.
  • Just sometimes it is hard for me to believe that God will forgive me after all my sins, I want to be a good wife and mother and I pray every day God will give me strength to do that
You are indeed forgiven, and, Romans 8:1.
  • but I was young and felt abandoned by everyone - my parents, my friends and god as well.
If you haven't done so, and to further your journey / healing, I would suggest that you officially forgive anyone who you may still harbor past ill feelings toward.

Welcome aboard Helen!
Awesome to have you joining TJ.
You'll find folks willing to share, pray, cry, laugh, and especially grow in the Lord with you!

Many here have quoted some good verses to let you know that "sin" has been a part of everyones' life believer or otherwise. (Except for our Lord and Savior Jesus!) Don't let the adversary continue to bring up the past sinning in your life. None of us are perfect yet, and will continue to fall, then get up, fall, get up........remember we're the only ones counting. You've been washed by the Blood of the Lamb and he's not counting!

If we continue in prayer, study of His word (Bible), fellowship, we continue to grow and become better prepared for when temptation rears its ugly head, and to help us in making better decisions in our lives. Associate with those who have Jesus foremost in their lives, even before you in any relationship and you'll find true fellowship. You should also have Him above others in your life as well! If they don't like it, then they're probably not the right one for you.

Well.........I could go on and on and on......when all I wanted to do is say WELCOME TO TJ HELEN! :)
Hope you decide to stay awhile! You'll find awesome brothers & sisters in Christ Jesus, who'll help as the Holy Spirit allows and who probably share how they've been able to overcome the down periods in their own lives. To be honest. You'll never fix the things in your life by moving away from Jesus; only by moving towards Him will you fill any emptiness that you may feel regardless of the reason for feeling it. See......I said I could go on and on and there I was going on and on!!!!
Once again be Welcome Little Sister!
