The United States has it good. Much better than many other places in the world, and we just don't get it for the most part. I was humbled myself just recently with a wonderful woman who just moved here to be with her husband from Africa.
If we want shoes, we go to the store or our closet. No big deal. There are shoe stores in her area of Africa, but they are all piled in a corner of a building.
If we want food-whatever we want- we go to the grocery store. She doesn't know how to cook more than rice, beans, broth and fish because that's all she's ever had to eat.
I can't count the blessings God has given to me because I am oblivious to so many of them. Are you too?
So please take a moment today and tomorrow and pray for our nation. For our leaders. For our upcoming election (not my candidate to win, but Your chosen one, Lord). For our soldiers, especially those who are not stateside. For our governments, national, state and city.
I pray that we would repent and turn to our First Love, Who we are founded upon. Give all of us wisdom. Let us all be drawn to You. Let us hear Your Words as You speak for those who cannot speak for themselves, I pray that we hear as a nation and revival spreads all over. Let God's authority stand alone.
Let us all make a choice now, today, to follow Christ without shame, without condemnation. Let us be bold. Let strongholds and all bondages be broken- let Christ reign in our country and in our hearts.
Jesus, hear our cries and bring us out of the pits we have dug for ourselves, stand us upon Your foundation.
Give us strength to persevere, provision for what we need, and above all, Your love be revealed to each one of us.
Lord, we lift up to You our soldiers. Keep them from harm, strengthen them for the path before them. Thank You so much for their sacrifices of talent, time, and sometimes life. Be close to them and to the families they have left behind.
Lord, our leaders need to be touched by You. I pray for secular leaders who don't know You. Holy Spirit, convict them, soften their hearts and let them repent wholeheartedly. For the hard hearted, Lord, use them as You desire, change their minds to do Your will. We know the future because You have told us. We pray for Jesus Christ's quick return. We wait for You, Lord, yet keep us working diligently for Your kingdom.
In the Name of Christ Jesus, Amen.
