A few years ago at a woman's day at Methodist church I asked all the leaders the simple question: are you descended from Adam and Eve or evolved from monkeys?' Several said monkeys or apes as if there is any difference! But the minister angrily said 'Evolution is proven!' before stalking away in high dudgeon.
I then asked the woman who was head of the Northern Methodists the same question and she smirked superciliously ' You do know the first four books are poetry?'
Is it any wonder the churches are empty?
And yes, I do have a knack for upsetting false teachers!
