Finding God
"No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son who is at the Father's side has revealed Him." (Jn 1:18) Very significant words if you're looking for God. In other words, you probably won't find God, the true God, by staring at your belly button! He is most easily discovered in His Son, Jesus Christ. In the fourteenth chapter of John, Jesus declared, "Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father." And in Hebrews 1:3 we read, "The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His being."
Oh, we get glimpses of God elsewhere. The OT Law described God, and although accurate, it was very impersonal. The Prophets of old tried to paint a picture of God, but with their limited tools of speech and writing, they often left us wondering. In the Psalms, David did a fabulous job of sharing the heart of God.
But it is in Jesus Christ that God is fully revealed. He is a live, three-dimensional model of God. To really know God, you've got to take time to study the life, words, attitudes, and teachings of His Son, Jesus Christ. Recall the words of John 1:3, "In Him (Christ) was life, and this life became the light for all men." Take time to let the light of His life show you the way to God. Don't let your enemy hide the light of Christ from you anymore. (2Cor 4:4) Come find Life in His Light today. God be with you all...
