"Hail! King of the Jews!" they mocked, as they slapped him across the face. John 19:3 NLT
“Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’
The King of Israel!” (John 12:13 NKJV).
As the DAYS PASSED THE VOICES GREW SILENT AND THEN SURLY. The minds of the masses were transformed negatively. The once adoring crowd shouted insults at the Messiah. They demanded His death. Their enthusiastic worship turned to bitter scorn.
The people were comfortable watching Roman soldiers slap the face of Jesus. How had this man become so despised, so rejected?
You never would have turned your back on Jesus, right? This event is an example of why Jesus came. Like the fickle crowd, you were born in need of the grace made possible when Jesus died for the sins of deserters.
You can follow god and act like He’s the enemy, say you want to be more like Christ and act like you’re unteachable, or sing God-songs and never let the words speak life to your spirit.
God does not force transformation. He offers it. If you refuse to cooperate, you could find yourself singing praise one moment and denying you know Him the next.
Prayer: Dear God, help me resist negative transformation. I want to know You more and introduce You to others. I want to learn from You and let it positively alter what I do and how I do it.
