I ID as Dovegiven because that reminds me to thank God for His unspeakable gift of salvation of my spirit-man and the indwelling of His Holy Spirit. I've understood a long time my once dead spirit was made alive in Christ Jesus by His redeeming blood, but have spent the decades since that day in 1976 studying to fully wrap myself around the marvelous mind of Christ. I daily train my soul through the Word of God (Bible plus tutorship of the Spirit), which includes reforming my carnal mind that worked against me from childhood until today, and by that practice command my flesh body to follow proper orders and actions that testify to the Lordship of Jesus our Christ of God.

I have by now rejected beliefs based on denominational doctrines, resetting to consider the literal message of the Bible, reconsidering the popular interpretations of the metaphors, taking the parables in light of ancient settings. Whatever I believe about God, Jesus, righteousness, or any other issue is based on what the Bible teaches. I respect teachers and preachers who drive me to confirm any possible revelation from God through study of their claims. My career was science ending as a "wetlands wildlife forester" (combined biologist plus specifically forestry/zoology/hydrology) tasked to make forestry practices tailored to preservation of a major water source (retired), and I still respect true science (which is neglected by the modern media). My wife and I were raised up under Southern Baptist training until both of us entered the full light of the gospel ("Full Gospel" as that was titled in those days). It 'took' for my wife, helping her pursue holiness from her earliest remembrances, though she now knows all that work was "law", not faith under grace. It didn't "take" for me, being but scant head knowledge with no commitment to that until age 31, largely after witnessing the way my wife dealt with life, knowing at last the key was Jesus in her. Soon she passed the priesthood of our marriage on to me. The Bible became and still is my most read book on a daily basis.

My focus is the Bible and introducing people to God's word, towards their salvation and being disciples of Jesus. The King James version as is commonly found today is my main textual resource, though I have many other resources that help guide my study. Help remind me to keep my opinions based on what Jesus would most likely declare about any subject.

I pray my words here always magnify the Lord Jesus, Christ of God.

I have already enjoyed reading your posts so I thought I would officially welcome you to the community.
