So I am talking with my son on the phone about going to church and denominations, he helped me solve the dilemma of finding a new church , it went sorta like this:
Son: Have you found a new church yet?
Dad: No.
Son: Wow, you haven't been going to church?
Dad: No, it's been about 4 months now.
Son: Why can't you find a new church?
Dad: Doctrine. It seems nobody believes what the bible actually says.
Son: Oh.
Dad: I googled the question 'How many Christian denominations are there?' and the answer came back 'about 38,000'.
Son: Wow, that is a lot!
Dad: Yeah, How long do you think it would take me to visit them all?
Son: A long time!
Dad: Yeah, if I went to one per week then its about 760 years to finish and I don't think the Lord is going to give me that long.
Son: What if you did seven a week?
Dad: Well that would be 360 a year. So we're still looking at roughly 10 years. And I couldn't do it alone, I would need 6 other people to help.
Son: That could be done. How about if we used 70 people?
Dad: By the math, it would take a year to find the right denomination. But if we could find 70 other people who really believed the bible to help us, we may as well just start our own church body.
Son: What denomination would we be then?
Dad: the 38,001 on Google. Mans solution to the problem....maybe we should pray that God provide a solution instead.
