FALSE TEACHERS?? or REAL CHRISTIANS?

They came to my church today and i asked them what they thought after the service... they said "Good message, but it's still missing something. He didn't fall back on the Word of GOd. He told me people to love one another, but how are people gunna know how to do that if they don't read the Bible themselves and study it and believe it." That was a good point, and i'm gunna tell my pastor about that. Cuz nonbelievers and believers both might want to know exactly how to do that.

Instead of doing what seems right to them, they need to do what's right according to the Word of God, and in order to do that, they need to indulge in it. Then we talked for 2 hours after the service about stuff, and a lot it was how things around the world in church are done wrong, how worship was done wrong, and the prophet said God told him not to worship because something was wrong with the music. Cuz they were talking about how people are commanded to lift up their hands during worship and only a few were doing it. And i asked them why they didn't have their hands lifted up. One guy said he came in there to observe and listen, not to worship, then if everything seemed okay, he would worship.

The prophet said there was something wrong in the music (don't know what he meant by that). They have some weird views on things, and we talked about how I'm a new CHristian and don't understand where they're coming from on a lot of these things. I also told them it doesnt matter how long someone has been a believer, a younger child might see and know something the elder doesn't. One guy agreed, the other more talkative one just kept talking... Then sort of agreed later.

But it seemed that a lot of it was just pointing out the wrong, so at the end I told them "What i've learned is that i need to study the WOrd of God, pray, and listen for God to talk to me" because all of the other stuff might be true, but God hasn't revealed that to me yet. So i'm left it at "we are on two different levels, i'm gunna do my part and listen for God." And they said, "If we got you to see the importance of knowing what the Bible says and believing it and living it out, we've done our job."

And that is wonderful that it ended on that note. I don't have to see them again if I don't want to since they don't have my info, but if i need contact them i can. They left me with some good advice, and it's advice i will pass along to all Christians and nonChristians, and to my pastor about making that a point at each sermon... to study God's Word on our own, pray over it, live it out. The rest will come as God molds us into the person He wants us to be. Thanks for all of your posts. God bless you all.

jmh, I agree with your response. I, too, have been blessed with that same message recently. God works through imperfect men to do His perfect work. I would never dare to presume how God goes about His business, but I can say with all confidence that He is most assuredly multi-tasking. With a single experience, He touches many, many lives. The one who speaks it, the one who hears it and relays it, and those who discuss it. Count'em up. Who's to say it isn't possible for God to use misled, imperfect Christians, or even false teachers, to bring His children into all Truth? PRAISE GOD!!! The trick for us is to trust God to lead us to that Truth.

Amen!

the guys i met said the NIV is wrong and the KJV is the ONLY right bible translated in English

I read only the KJV, but I disagree with these men. Just because the Bible has different translation doesnt mean it is wrong. If they say that, then what about the spanish or chinese version of the Bible? These men rely too much on the KJV and not enough in The Bible(God's Holy Word) itself.

Cody you have well said..

Cody you have said it very well and clearly. That is it. We need to rely on the word of God and its real meaning.

Hey there, Vince. Don't be deceived by these fellows. They may be well-meaning, but I sense that they themselves have been deceived.

Tonyb made some very good suggestions. I have no issue with the KJV, but it uses words that had a very different meaning 400 years ago than they do today, so you have to be aware not to be misled. I personally like the NKJV and ESV, but also have a copy of the NIV that I use from time to time.

Some churches get preoccupied with what I call convert counting. Fear and uncertainty are great recruiting tools...ask any life insurance agent. Don't be misled.
