What or who is the sin nature?

In short, the sin nature is the spirit of Satan's kingdom in the hearts of men. The sin nature originated from the devil; "Satan," previously known as Lucifer. Lucifer sought to exalt himself above the Throne of Jehovah God, that he might have praise and become the god of Heaven having dominion over all.

God cast the devil out of Heaven down to the earth temporarily; at which time He created man on the earth and Satan deceived Eve. Within time Adam sinned and Satan filled his heart and the hearts of all God's creation. Ultimately, after Jesus’ death and resurrection from the dead for man's sins, the nature of Satan was condemned and cast out of Heaven forever (Rom. 8:3). Satan was also cast out of the hearts of all believers forever (Isa. 14:12-17) (Eze. 28:11-19; Joh 12:31:16:11).

By Satan being cast out of the hearts of believers and Jesus filling our hearts with Righteousness, we are declared innocent (Saints) from all sin. God calls those thing which are not seen and understood literally, as though they were; this is faith (Rom. 4:17). This is why the just believers shall live by faith. Believers cannot sin because the seed of Righteousness abides in their hearts and sin comes from the heart and is imputed only if Satan abides there. It is only by the Grace of God who is not imputing sin unto believers that this is possible (Rom 4:8; 2Cor. 5:19). Because of this all believers are delivered and made free from the nature of sin once for all time (Eph. 2:8:9). Again, believers must call those thing which be not, as though they were in order to please God (Heb. 11:6; Rom. 4:17; Gen. 17:5). Abraham had to believe God would make him Father of many nations though his wife (Mary) was barren. Because Abraham believed God, it was accounted unto Abraham for Righteousness and God did not impute sins unto Abraham; though Jesus had not died for sins as yet.

Every man born into this world are born sinners by "nature" because they've inherited the sin nature of Adam which God imputed unto them without any sinful actions of their own. Israel was also sinners by nature, but because God had mercy, He took them as His own inspite of their sinful nature. God gave Israel laws of sacrifices which would "cover their sinfulness" from God's sight temporarily. God tolerated man's sinful nature until the fullness of time in which He would send His Son to condemn and destroy the sinful nature (Rom.3:25). Every sinner that believes the Gospel of Jesus Christ is taken out of the sin nature and translated into the Kingdom of God where there is no possibility for the sin nature to be present in man’s heart. Every believer has been given unrepentant Grace of non-imputation of sin to learn how to walk in Righteousness without condemnation and concerns of sinning. Believers have the option to grow from dead works and unfruitful works in Grace by learning everything Jehovah God has done in Righteousness for us until the time of Judgment.

The Gospel message is, “Jesus died on the cross to take away a sinner's sins,” and cleanse them from all unrighteousness (1Cor. 15:3; 1Joh. 1:9; 3:5; Joh. 1:29). The Gospel redeems a man out of captivity, purchasing them through the blood of Jesus Christ; delivering them from the bondage of sin and the sin nature.

Rom. 11:24
For if you (Gentiles) were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature (sinful nature), and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree (Righteous nature): how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

Hey @regibassman57 hope you have a great weekend brother in Christ.

You know the sin nature is what Jesus gave us power to say no to, Before we were slaves to sin, now we have the power through Jesus Christ to say NO to sin, but sometimes a Christians gives into sin and stumbles especially when they just come to faith, and then we have Jesus as a Go between to the Father for us if we repent and to be forgiven of the sin. Eventually you will hate the sin this is being sanctified, it is a life long process and we must battle everyday.

We have 2 natures born again people now have a spirit nature that is of Christ but we still have the flesh we have deal with and that is where the sin nature is, But now we have the power to say no to the flesh

Thanks Dave, you have a great weekend also.

Not only do we have power over Satan, we have the “victory” over Satan because God has given us the victory. This victory is only taken through faith. If we believe we are not something that God has told us we are; we don’t believe Him, and therefore, cannot take the victory. The victory is only seen and taken through faith in what God’s word says.

Joh 6:63 It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh profits nothing: the “words” that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Dave, there is no doubt in my mind that you believe “in” Jesus and are in the body of Christ. I’m encouraging you to believe the “principle things” that gives us the foundation for faith in what Christ has said and done.

I don't have to hate sin because I don't sin, neither do I hate. I don't hate anything because I have peace of spirit; the Peace of God raigns in my heart. As far as my actions, I'm in control over them and as you said, we have power over any actions we may possibly commit. I rest in the truth of that knowledge because God has given us the knowledge.

Sanctification from sin was Jesus' responsibility (not the believer) and it has already been done. It's not how we see it, but how Jesus sees it. Sanctification of a believer's works has not been completely done and it is a process. The sanctification process of works is the believer’s responsibility. This is why every believer will give account for their works according to scripture; but not sin at the day of judgment.

Joh 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

Joh 16:11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

@regibassman57 great question I can tell you from personal experience and hope to help you understand .

I used to be sexual fornicator, this was the biggest hurdle for me to overcome, I would stumble from time to time in giving into my flesh desires, but every time gave in to them, I felt terrible and regretted it so much that I would fast and pray on it. slowly but surely I was able to over come these desires but it did not happpen over night it took time praying fasting and discipline I hate I ever gave into these desires as I know it makes my father in Heaven sad, anytime we sin it makes God the almighty sad.

Proverbs 8:13
The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.

Under the Old Covenant God's children hated their enemies and God hated sin, but under the New Covenant God has judged sin and we are to love our enemies. It's not about having a mind of hate.

We do under the New Covenant what God tell us. Where in the New Testament does God tells us to hate? It's a waste of time to hate something that is defeated. If you practice hate, you are nurturing hate in yourself; and are capable of hating another creation of God; believer or unbeliever.

Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

We hate sin because it separates us from God. We hate it because it lessens our love and dulls our conscience, because it binds us and blinds us. We hate it because it grieves the Spirit of God (Ephesians 4:30). Our prayer to the Holy One is “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 5:23).

Show me where I’ve change my story? I know you cannot. In the post you are referring to it’s obvious you didn’t read it correctly. Let me clarify for you. No man can stop themselves from sinning period. Only the sacrifice of Jesus Christ could and has delivered a man from sin which stops a man from sinning.

This is only correct under the Mosaic Covenant. If “sin” separates you from God how is it that Jesus will never leave you or forsake you? This should tell you God doesn’t see you as a person that sins. If He did, He would not be in you. This is why He had to deliver you from sins so He could live inside you redeeming you unto Himself.

Isa 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

God hid His face from Israel when they sinned grievously and continually without offering correct sacrifices. And in His anger He hid His face from them. But God said He will not hide His face anymore under the Covenant of Jesus Christ.

Eze 39:29 Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

We know that God is talking about the day of Pentecost. This is when the prophesy came to pass.

Act 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Act 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

Act 2:18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

Interestingly enough... He didn't say I will never leave you or forsake you in the new testament. He said it to Moses.

Deut 31:6 "Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you."

Deut 31:8; "The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed."

Heb 13:5; Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,"

Where did He (God) say this? It wasn't in the new testament anywhere. It was a quote of Deuteronomy 31.

However... even though God never left them....

All through the Bible people forsake God.

What is the penalty for this disobedience? Even in the new testament....

I don't think Paul spoke out of context when he spoke this. And I didn't use it out of context confirming what Paul said in the "New "Testament." Though God spoke it directly to the Children of Israel, Paul understood it being spoken to the New Israel as well. God is the same yesterday, today and forever in His love toward His children and never changes. We of the Church are the New Israel which God made promises to under the Old Testament. By me using Hebrews 13:5 as a reference is 100% acceptable because of the context Paul is speaking in. Paul is telling "us," the "Church of Christ" to be "BOLD" because "God" has said, (making a promise to His Church), He will never leave them or forsake them.

Matthew 28:20
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

I agree with your approach here, but it appears you don’t understand the nature of “sin” neither how God sees sin after He has judged it. It doesn’t seem you understand that a man is no longer justified by the law. Do you understand what it means when a person is “justified by the law or what it means when a person is not justified by the law?

You said it doesn’t matter what man calls it, but how God defines it.

It matters because God did something with “sin.” Because God judged sin, he defines it only one way; and that one way is “condemned.” When scriptures says, “let God be true and every man a liar,” it’s talking about in these instances.

I believe the both of you enjoy the phrase, “sin is sin;” but as I said above, it doesn’t appear you know what sin is and what God has done regarding sin. Sin was sin under the Law of Moses, but God defines sin as condemned. God also defines believers as “Saints” and “Justified” innocent from sin, but the two of you continue to reject the declaration of God's offering of love to you in Christ by offering His Son for you to take away your sins. But it seems you would prefer to be sinners and sin having a consciousness of sin once again rejecting what Hebrews 10:2, 3 teaches.

Your deeds are where you will spend eternity, but your deeds are influenced by what you believe. If you believe you are a sinner and can never be anything else but a sinner who sins, you will sin and your deeds will condemn you. This is because of your faith or lack thereof will send you to hell. You seem to believe that God will judge people for their sins which is impossible; sin has been judged and condemned (Rom. 8:3; Joh. 12:31; 16:11). For God to judge sins again would be “double jeopardy.”

“Double jeopardy” is a procedural defense that prevents an accused person from being tried again on the same (or similar) charges and on the same facts, following a valid acquittal or conviction.

Believers have been found innocent on all charges of sin and death because Jesus bore our burden for them both. Once Jehovah God saw this He was pleased and declared His judgment of all believers innocent of sin..

Isa 53:10, 11

Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Jesus; he hath put him to grief: when thou shall make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. Jehovah God shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Again incorrect. You shouldn't be twice for the "same" offense. But you can certainly be tried over and over again for "similar" offenses.
You you only kill one person. You should only be tried once. If you kill 10 people, there could certainly be 10 trials.

What you don't to understand B-A-C is God did not judge "each" sin as you appear to be eluding to, but He judged the "sin nature." The nature of sin has been judged and condemned. All unbelievers have been condemned with the sin nature because they do not believe what Jesus has done on the cross.

Joh 3:18 He that believes on Jesus is not condemned: but he that "believes not" is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

1Jo 5:10 He that believes on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believes not God hath made him a liar; because he believes not the record that God gave of his Son.

Any person that does not believe that Jesus came and died for the sins of the world does not believe the record that God made of His Son.. This is what will condemn them at the end of the worldnot in God's word of His Son and is condemned with sin. This is because they do not believe the report God gave of His son

This sin is the nature of sin which every person that sinned was in bondage to. But by the death and resurrection Jesus Christ believer that know what Jesus has done is free from their sins and not condemned.

Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Any man that believes they sin is condemned with sin because sin is condemned and never to be judged again.

I think it’s very important to understand that scripture does not teach those that say they “do not sin” are of the devil. Jesus died to free man from sin scripture says.

Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin.

1Jo 3:8 He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Folks might think it's shallow of me to continue to exhange with you two, but it's not just for you, but for those that will know the truth and desire it. It is also and exercise resisting the devil when he presents emtoions to make to lash out. But because I know God said resist the devil i'm getting better and stronger while chatting with you all.
