Psalm 147:3) He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.

Certainly there is by no means a guarantee of a life free from pain, and certainly this includes emotional pain. This come from many places such as our job or school. Many times we feel hurt because of infractions conferencing the golden rule (Mark 12:31)“‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself”. Insults, slander, and gossip are just a few ways others can hurt you and me. Note that this can happen reversed. Proverbs 12:18 says “reckless words pierce like a sword”. The wounds words can cause penetrate the depths of the soul and can break us bit by bit when they resonate in our minds. (The devil definitely can put thoughts and words in our mind. Weather we choose to accept those thoughts is entirely up to us). Feels don’t just magically disappear at our desire. Emotional states like depression, extend periods of sorrow, and hopelessness can just sit in our heart with no intention to leave. But thanks be unto God we have grace. Let us seek God for the restoration and stabilization of our emotions, especially in those occasions when we are feeling overwhelmed.

One emotion is rage or anger that can get the better of us.

yanah - destroy /oppress
Zaaph - wrath
Kaas - provoke to wrath
Shirggon - Anoia(Gr) - Raging / violent madness
Chema - rage
Zaam - indignation / defy
Ebrah - outburst of anger
Aph - anger
Ragaz - tremble with fear or anger
Rogez - be troubled / restless
Charah - Fret
Hamah - disquiet
Qatsaph - displeased

When we are displeased by circumstances then it can disquiet our soul. Being disquiet is lacking peace. The peace that passes understanding can only be found when the mind is stayed on Christ.

Isa 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Php 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Fretting is being careful or concerned about everything that happens. It leads to a troubled or restless state of emotions. That troubled state, then can lead to fear or anger about the situation that we are displeased about. Which can then manifest in outbursts of anger defying the Lord, and breaking the commandment of sin not in anger. Which is when our own wrath gets the upperhand, and then the invitation to all those demonic influences have a seat at the buffet.

Eph 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
Eph 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
Eph 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.

So very easy to see in scripture, but not so easy to keep a handle on when right in the middle of the battle.

There are prayers from scripture that can be said, and some actions that can also be done to overcome emotional turmoil. The first two words have the scripture reference listed, but if the other words are looked up in a concordance for where they are found in the Biblical texts, then those verses and chapters that are relevent can be prayed. Those same chapters (through prayer) will also give the instructions on what action needs to be taken by the person wrapped up in their own emotions.
