Draw Near to God
By Charla Miller..JustWorship

James 4:8 – says, “Draw near to God, & He will draw near to us.”
If I am going to draw near to God then this means that I have a part to play. I have to choose
to set my heart on God & I have to make a decision that I am going to draw near Him. I have to
set aside & prepare for the time & the place that I will seek Him.
My goal is to have an on-going relationship with Him. When I come to Him, I must come in
faith. I must believe that He is real, that His Word is true, & that as I come to Him, truly seeking
Him He will answer me, & He will draw near to me. Then, He can speak into my heart, the
things that He wants to speak to me.
Jeremiah 33:3 – says, “Call to me & I will answer you & tell you great & unsearchable things
that you do not know.”
It’s in His presence, when my spirit unites with His Spirit that worship takes place. It’s an
experience. It’s an encounter with God. As I come to this place of surrender before Him, then He
can speak into my heart & my heart can be changed.

Yes and it is only in His presence that we learn from God that only He can teach us. Not making time and sitting at His feet will result in us being so much poorer, so I want to encourage everyone to make time for God and learn what you will learn nowhere else.

And we must remember that God cannot do His part if we don't do our part.

Thanks for posting it is a great subject.

Thanks Rizen1 for posting this. I have found it so beneficial to have a set time and place for prayer. Obviously this doesn't prevent me from praying at other times or places, but to have that commitment to come and seek His face at that particular time has enormous benefits.

"Prayer changes things" is a very true statement, but perhaps more important is that "Prayer changes us". God wants to transform us to be more and more like His Son...so, it's a good idea to get to know His Son more and more!

Love in Him,

Mark.
