Don't Let Me Live Wrong
A.W. Tozer

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. --2 Timothy 4:7-8

For years I have made a practice of writing many of my earnest prayers to God in a little book--a book now well worn. I still turn often to the petitions I recorded in that book. I remind God often of what my prayers have been.

One prayer in the book--and God knows it well by this time, for I pray it often--goes like this:

Oh God, Let me die rather than to go on day by day living wrong. I do not want to become a careless, fleshly old man. I want to be right so that I can die right. Lord, I do not want my life to be extended if it would mean that I should cease to live right and fail in my mission to glorify You all of my days!...

As you will recall from Second Kings 20, the Lord gave Hezekiah a 15-year extension of life. Restored to health and vigor, Hezekiah disgraced himself and dishonored God before he died and was buried.

I would not want an extra 15 years in which to backslide and dishonor my Lord. I would rather go home right now than to live on--if living on was to be a waste of God's time and my own! Jesus Is Victor! pp. 141-142

"Please, Father, help me to finish well. Amen."

Brother Chad,I sure do understand your prayer. Once as I was telling the Lord how small I feel sometimes, because of my own weakness, the Holy Spirit said this to me,perhaps this will encourge you as well. Mark Jesus took your sins, and put them as far from the east is from the west, and he remembers them no more, why don't you put you put your sea next to mine? Psalm 103:11-17 In the end of our race, what is it that we really have? Knowing we are but mere men,and knowing how we do fall short everyday,is good as long as this does not keep us from our Lord. It is far to easy to put weights on our own selfs allowing the enemy to mock our mind, and make us feel so small. And so the Lord gave us something we can truly balance in our life, to fight this battle we have daily in our flesh. It is this 1 john 4:7-21 In the end of our race,KNOWING!! we believe, and knowing we all fall short, this is our measueing stick for us. We know this, that if we have perfected ourselves in this area, then Bless God he who started a great work in us,is more then able to finish it. This the Holy Spirit told me,I hope this will minister life to others as well. Praise Jesus, for there is no better, or more loving Father!! That is why we are his children.amen

giving up

The blood of the lamb is far Greater than any sin...

Rom 14:4
Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

Php 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Wow, giving up?? forgetting the power of God right hand to hold up?? Only thinking of yourself, and not finishing the course, to run the race??

Only one reason to think like this. Remembering past mistakes, and constantly looking back at failures. Bless God Paul said that is one thing we are not to do... Look forward to the things before us. Have faith in finishing the course, have faith to complete what God has given us to do. Having faith in being a failure should never be a option for a Christian. To much on the line, to much to accomplish for each of us before we leave Earth. Who are we to tell God we may not be able to be used... Moses tried that, and God sure did not buy into it.

Thanx for the warning about this Tozer guy Chad....
