Does God speak to us in dreams as he did during the biblical times?

I've just been asking my self this week, after I had a really striking dream about an ambiguous work situation that I'm experiencing in my life right now.

Acts 2:17; 'AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,' God says, 'THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS;

Are you an old man? :rolleyes:

I was going to say Acts 2:17 as well. Something to keep in mind about this: whatever GOD may be telling you, it always completely aligns and agrees with Scripture. It does not usurp nor contradict His own word, ever.

Yes, God still does speak to us in dreams. The problem with it is that many dreams are not from God, so people would rather not trust in them being from God, and trust in scripture alone. I disagree wth this though. I think we should value any method the Lord speaks to us in. We simply need to learn to discern what is good and bad, not only in life, but in our dreams. And if the dream doesnt support wisdom found in scripture, then its usually not from the Lord. Some cases will run counter to this though. Like the dream Joseph had about his brothers bowing down to him. If I had a dream like that, I might think its the ungodly desire to be greater than others, arising from pride. But instead of talking about it, I would keep it to myself and try and remember it in case there is purpose in it later in life.

Haha, no I'm not an old man. I'm a young girl.

... well, not so young anymore.

Thank you all. I felt the overarching message in the dream was God telling me not to worry because everything will be fine.

To give it more context, my company is going through a significant restructure, which is now knocking at my department and my team. I don't know where I will be in 2 months time.

I trust in God and know that everything will be fine but I can't help but wonder what will happen and there were specifics in the dream which really got me thinking, at the same time I don't want to read too much into it when I shouldn't. But like Brad is saying, it might make more sense at a later date.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Lean not to thine own understanding. God will reveal your dream to you, just ask Him.
