Does Almighty God the Father have a physical body?

Genesis 1:26-27 (KJV) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
John 14:7 (KJV) If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Jesus Christ is the body and God is the spirit. Together the body and Spirit are still one and the same. Just like you and I have a body and a spirit.

Jesus Christ is the body and God is the spirit.

What happened after his earthly body was removed? Was he not then a LIFE GIVING SPIRIT himself? So if God is a Spirit which the Bible says he is. Then when Jesus
became that life giving Spirit are there not now two life giving Spirits?

John 5:26 "For as the Father hath life within himself, so hath he GIVEN TO THE SON to have life within himself."

1Co 15:46 " And so it is written "the first Adam was made a living being". The last Adam BECAME A LIFE GIVING SPIRIT." As flesh and blood cannot inherit the
Kingdom. Jesus is more than bodily flesh and blood as he is the King of the Kingdom.
Together the body and Spirit are still one and the same

Without the spirit the body is dead. When the spirit of a man leaves the body it is nothing more than worm food.

Just like you and I have a body and a spirit.

True, but only the spirit can inherit the kingdom. No flesh and blood bodies allowed.

Thank you for your full informative reply of which I concur absolutely! I posed this question because some preachers Kenneth Copeland being one of teaching that God the Father has a physical body. In fact, Copland even worked out Almighty Gods' height at about 6 foot two, I am not kidding I can prove it if you doubt me.

Some people do have their own ideas -- Jesus was born into this world as a Jewish boy growing into manhood. Jewish men are usually short in stature.

And there are those who have 'interesting' ways to prove a point that isn't correct.

Here's a 'best effort' at Jesus likeness. It's assuming that Jesus had typically Gallilean features of the day. A team of forensic anthropolists gathered all the data they could, and came up with this.

In truth, it's not specific to Jesus. If you want to a 1st century building site you could expect to meet half a dozen men that look like this.

The surprise for me was height, not complexion. I'm not at tall man, so I'm used to literally looking up to people in authority.

But at just over 5 foot tall, I'd have towered over Jesus.

Jesus went to heaven in his fleshly body.
Luke 24:36-51 (KJV) And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.

And he took it, and did eat before them.

And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
And ye are witnesses of these things.
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.

John 5:26 "For as the Father hath life within himself, so hath he GIVEN TO THE SON to have life within himself."
Correct you see The Son is the body. The body of Christ would not have life without his spirit inside of him. That's clear...
He's always been though.
He was fulfilling scriptures that's why he became a life giving spirit after he was crucified. Jesus is the holy comforter. It's the same spirit as from the beginning that created the heavens and all the earth. Jesus spirit has always been. There is no 2 spirits. His Spirit can be in different places at the same time and still be his one selfsame Spirit because he is God and he is complex!!!

Why do you think he states so much in the bible to pray in his name, and rebuke in his name and baptize in his name!!! God is a spirit it's not a name. People really think that. No his NAME is Jesus. Yes you can call him God it does in the bible all the time but he does have a name. Just like you and I.

Jesus was not Jesus Christ until he Received the Holy Ghost at Jordan, where God says this is beloved Son in whom I am well pleased hear ye him.
Without the spirit the body is dead. So what spirit indwelled Jesus before he became Jesus Christ. Not to mention in Luke it says that Jesus grew in wisdom
and stature, and in favor with God and men. Why would he need to grow in wisdom or favor with God if he was God?

1John 4::14 " And we have SEEN and do testify THAT THE FATHER SENT THE SON TO BE THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD."
1John 4:15 "Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the SON OF GOD, God dwelleth in him, and he in God."

1Co 15:45 "And so it is written "the first Adam became a living being", the last Adam BECAME A LIFE GIVING SPIRIT."
This one verse proves that he was not a life giving spirit until he became one after his earthly existence. He needed to be perfected first, God would not
need this as he was perfect to begin with.
Hebrews 5:9 "AFTER HE WAS PERFECTED he BECAME the SOURCE OF ETERNAL SALVATION for all who obey him."

Matthew 1:18 (KJV) Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Matthew 1:23 (KJV) Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Matthew 2:4 (KJV) And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

Does Almighty God the Father have a physical body?

Alan
Hi Alan, none of us can possibly know the answer to that question, but I believe many of us, like you and I ponder it. It occurred to me once, that we, as atomic structures are made of atoms. Atoms could be, to a layman, who is just toying with flippant ideas, likened to our universe. In our galaxies, there are sun's and planets that, to an unschooled mind like my own, resemble atoms. So in this universe of flying balls in the sky, there is one called planet earth, on planet earth, there are people who are wondering about who created this planet, they look up into the heavens and pray to whoever is made up of these universes. He, being so in tune with his body, (he doesn't polute his body, leaving him sensitive to everything in it) senses the prayers and rests to them, causing the people to believe. Please don't enybody read this as my belief, it's just a childish museing. Bless you

Hi Alan
John14:8 Philip said, "Lord show us the Father and that will be enough for us." Jesus answered, "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father".

Luke 1:15 (KJV) For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

Nice try, but that is an angel speaking to Zechariah about John the Baptist in the womb of Elisabeth.

Isaiah 9:6

John 4:24
God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

To us a BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD was given. The government SHALL be upon his shoulders when he became King of the kingdom. His name shall be called Wonderful counselor as the things we are taught by the Holy Ghost are things that he has spoken to the Spirit to tell us. Why a prince of peace instead of the King of peace?
Could it be that God is King and Jesus is the Son therefore the Prince?

Lastly if Jesus was God then this verse is a lie. John 1:18 " No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath
declared him."
As many many men saw Jesus. And as you quote above God is a Spirit, and Jesus was a MAN. We can't see Spirits, but we can see each other.

John14:8 Philip said, "Lord show us the Father and that will be enough for us." Jesus answered, "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father".

This is easily answered by the fact that God was in Christ Jesus reconciling the world. So the things that Jesus did were actually the works of God and Jesus even says
so in John 14:10. He was saying that the works were of the Father and if you saw them then you saw the Father at work, but since God is a Spirit that no man hath
seen at any time Jesus was obviously not talking about himself being God. As he plainly states that He was the Son of God in John 10:36

Romans 8:8-10 (KJV) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
(One Spirit)

This speaks to ALL who are born again, not just what Spirit Jesus had prior to being baptized in the Holy Ghost at Jordan and becoming Jesus the Christ (messiah).

If you will look at Matthew 1:12-16 you will see that there were 14 generations from the carrying away into Babylon to Christ, but Jesus was the 13th generation.
Therefore when he became Jesus the Christ at Jordan He was counted as the 14th Generation in the Bible. A new being more than what Jesus was as the 13th.
