There are many that say they know who Jesus Christ is. But do they really? Let’s read just a few scriptures that let’s us know just who Jesus Christ really is by telling us some of the things He has done, and one event, of many, He has yet to complete. After reading these few scriptures you may be surprised to learn that there may have been a lot about Jesus Christ you did NOT know!

Jesus Christ is the one that created everything that was created. Let’s prove this by starting with some scriptures I’m sure all will be familiar with;

St. John 1
1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
2. The same was in the beginning with God.

Now I’m sure all have at some point read the verse above during their reading of God’s word. But the next (2) verses may have been read, but only glanced over and not taken seriously…..that is until other verses are read along with it for understanding. Let’s read….

3. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
10. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

Now some may have noticed them and what they say, but most just continue to just glance over them never really reading them, and understanding what they imply. Let’s NOT do that now. Let’s take out the time to really understand the word of God:

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”

“ He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.”

Did you ever consider what these verses are really saying? Jesus Christ made ALL THINGS that were made. So that means ALL THINGS; heavens, earth, animals and MAN was made by Jesus Christ! Now let’s confirm this with other scriptures.

Col.1
12. Giving thanks to the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13. Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14. In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15. Who is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of every creature:
16. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.

Heb.1
1. God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2.Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds.
Eph.3
9. And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

So the verse in the first chapter of John really comes to light after reading other scriptures supporting what it says. Now that we know some of the things Jesus did….let’s read more…..

Jesus is the one that led the children of Israel by a pillar of a cloud and fire, and fed them the word;

Ex 13
21. And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
22. He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

Now let’s go to the (NT) and find what Paul had to say about the journey that their fathers took out of the land of Egypt. Let’s go to Corinthians.

Cor. 10
1. Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2. And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea.
3. And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
9. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

Paul above confirms what we have been finding out through the reading of the scriptures.

Now let’s read of an event that is yet to come that will also be performed that the one that made everything that was made.

Finally it will be Jesus Christ that will be the judge of all mankind;

St. John 5
22. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgement unto the Son;
26. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given unto the Son to have life in himself.
27. And hath given him authority to execute judgement also, because he is the Son of man.
So….who is Jesus Christ? Do you really know who He is? God’s word tell us……..

Hebrews 13: 8. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever.

I found that edifying Eccl12v13,I would like to add a verse that follows the same thread.

Acts 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Finally it will be Jesus Christ that will be the judge of all mankind
Acts 17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

Jesus is the Day and he is the last day.We can walk in THAT Day now.
Peace

Excellent! This is why you can never study the word of God too much! I now have yet another verse to add to this short lesson.

Thank you!

Something to consider is the difference between knowing about someone and actually knowing them. Knowing the scriptures does not equate to knowing Jesus.

Thank God He has given us a way to know Him;

1 John 2
[3] And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
[4] He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

That would be the result of knowing him.There is a journey involved as this requires a maturing process.
Philippians 3:8
Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord:
for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

Paul gave everything just for the knowledge of him.To Paul winning Christ was being found in him.

Philippians 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the
faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith

He attained(won) knowledge of Christ Jesus and was convinced of his(Paul's) location/position in Christ(in him we live and move).

Why did he do all this?:
Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings,
being made conformable unto his death;

Once knowing him maybe we can begin to understand the POWER
of his resurrection.

One can know about Jesus but unless one has repented, been baptised in water and received the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues, one cannot truly know Jesus.

First let's read what God said ALL men should live by;
Luke 4
[4] And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Now let's read where ALL of our doctrine is to come from;

2 Tim.3
[16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Thus far, God's word tells us we are to use ALL of the scriptures for our doctrine AND the scriptures we are to use are those found between Gen. to Rev.

So are to believe any and every doctrine that people speak? Here is what God tells us;

Eph.4
[14] That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Heb.13
[9] Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

God's word tells us NO! We are NOT to just accept any doctrine that comes along or just accept what someone says. But this is what we should do when someone claims to speak the word of God;

1 John 4
[1] Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

We are not to believe every spirit, but we are to try, or challange, the spirit.

1 Thes.5
[21] Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
2 Tim.4
[5] But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

We are to prove ALL things and make FULL proof of our ministry by using EVERY word of God Gen. to Rev.

Now I presented all of that to show what God's word tells us to do; challenge the spirit, make full proof of thy ministry and to ask the following;

Where in God's word, Gen. to Rev. does it state that speaking in tongues was a requirement for knowing Him.
