Do You Love Me?
If you love Christ; take care of His sheep.
If we love Him so much....why is it all we want to do is FEAST? When did "feed my sheep" become "feed me feed me feed me? Week in and week out...His followers continually feast on His blessings ...while His sheep are starving out there in the fields.
His blessings can only testify against us; for He says "It is more blessed to give than receive." Yet, as it was when He walked the earth, how many multitudes only follow Him for what they want to receive? Yes He will feed you; and then you must hear Him ask;
"Do you really love me?"
Are there any who look daily upon the stranger;the widow;the orphan; the poor; and say; if I would serve my Master; if saying "I love you" is to have any meaning; I must care for the least of these?
Joh 21:12 Jesus said, "Come and eat!" But none of the disciples dared ask who he was. They knew he was the Lord.
Joh 21:13 Jesus took the bread in his hands and gave some of it to his disciples. He did the same with the fish.
Joh 21:14 This was the third time that Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from death.
Joh 21:15 When Jesus and his disciples had finished eating, he asked, "Simon son of John, DO YOU LOVE ME MORE THAN THE OTHERS DO?" Simon Peter answered, "Yes, Lord, you know I do!" "Then feed my lambs," Jesus said.
Joh 21:16 Jesus asked a second time, "Simon son of John, DO YOU LOVE ME?" Peter answered, "Yes, Lord, you know I love you!" "Then take care of my sheep," Jesus told him.
Joh 21:17 Jesus asked a third time, "Simon son of John, DO YOU LOVE ME?" Peter was hurt because Jesus had asked him three times if he loved him. So he told Jesus, "Lord, you know everything. You know I love you." Jesus replied, "Feed my sheep.
Jas 1:27 What God the Father considers to be PURE AND GENUINE RELIGION is this: to take care of orphans and widows in their suffering and to keep oneself from being corrupted by the world.
1Pe 1:17 You call him Father, when you pray to God, who judges ALL people by the same standard, ACCORDING TO WHAT EACH HAS DONE; so then, spend the rest of your lives here on earth in reverence for him.
1Pe 1:18 For YOU KNOW WHAT WAS PAID TO SET YOU FREE from the WORTHLESS [RELIGIOUS] manner of life handed down by your ancestors.
2Co 11:3 I am afraid that your minds will be corrupted and that you will abandon your FULL AND PURE DEVOTION to Christ---in the same way that Eve was deceived by the snake's clever lies.
2Co 11:4 For you gladly tolerate anyone who comes to you and preaches A DIFFERENT JESUS, not the one we preached; and you accept A SPIRIT AND GOSPEL COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from the Spirit and the gospel you received from us!
1Co 13:1 If I speak in the tongues of humans and angels but have NO LOVE [for His sheep], I have become a reverberating gong or a clashing cymbal.
1Co 13:2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can understand all secrets and every form of knowledge, and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains but have NO LOVE, [for His sheep]I am nothing.
1Co 13:3 Even if I give away all that I have and surrender my body so that I may boast but have NO LOVE [for His sheep] I get nothing out of it.
1Co 13:5 LOVE ...TAKES NO THOUGHT FOR ITSELF.
The scripture above speaks of only two Religions. (belief systems)
One is GENUINE; the other WORTHLESS.
The adherent to the first will take care of others;
The adherent to the latter only takes care of itself (tho it boasts of its love for God)
