Do you have what is needed to live a Godly life?
Do ya want it? Do ya have it? Do ya even know how to use it? So, what is IT? IT is everything necessary to live a godly life. Peter says, in 2 Peter 1:3 that God has given us everything we need for a life of godliness. Yes, everything. And this gift is a piece of Himself. His own Divine Nature. Peter tells us that God's Divine Power works within us, creating in us His Divine Nature.
Wow, pretty awesome! This gift of godliness, this divine power making a divine nature in us, is none other than the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised that he'd send us His Holy Spirit to dwell in us, empower us, remind us of His Words, lead us, comfort us, convict us of sin, and transform us in righteousness. Yeah, I'd say that's everything we need for a life of godliness.
In fact, Peter goes on to say that if we partner with God in this process, we will escape the corruption that's destroying the world. He promises us that we will develop into people who reflect God's own goodness. And, that if we continue on developing godly character, we will become effective, productive Christians and establish our credibility as His children. In the end, Peter promises that we can even learn to walk without stumbling and receive a rich reward upon entering heaven. Seems impossible to me, but with God all things are possible. You see, it's not by my might, nor by my power, but by His Spirit that these changes are possible. Because, since God is in you, no one can stand against you. God be with you all...
