SignUp Now!I have had the summons a couple of times, but they send out summons to something like 40-50 people and only need like 14 or 15, 12 for the actual jury and 2 or 3 as backups, those selected will actually have to be more involved, but most are dismissed. I actually missed the last one I was called to, didnt get the mail till too late to go.All i know is i was informed last week that something about a voter registration had changes made n i was like thats impossible cause i never owned one..so i gotta figure out who i contact regarding it..ya know ill be sixty in a couple yrs n never ever been summoned for jury duty lol

You misunderstand my position Brother Nick, i support Democracy as the best form of Government we have atm, although when a Democracy elects a racist psychopath or one intent on World domination then you understand the pitiful limits of any human created sinful system. I support what you describe as Socialism but what i would describe as a form of Government that best applies the principles of Christs teaching to the Politics of a country. And as ive said many times before, i see ALL Earthly Governments as being fundamentally Evil and in the control of the Devil, the only question is to what degree that Evil is given sway. In this context i look at any political system as to how it aligns with Christs priorities to the poor and oppressed, how it deals with the poorest in society and in the wider world and how it treats God creation in general.I am talking of the "best of the worst", for ALL are bad, its just a question of how Bad .Of course you don't see it as socialism. Yet, it does more to not help the poor or I should say creates poorer people than a democracy does. The incentive that I've spoken of before, is just not there to change the people to increase productivity to allow it to be otherwise. If you don't think any government out there, be it socialism, democracy what have you don't have people lining their pockets of those already wealthy, then you're just not seeing it. For it is there even in China, or any other form of government. As we have both acknowledged before, until Jesus returns its not going to change, try as we might. Oh, and yes, we try, but remember...."process".
But then surely Brother Nick, the solution is not to disregard completely the contribution that Government can make to alleviating poverty and suffering in the world, which is far, far greater than any Charitable institution or Church could do, but to campaign for a much more effective delivery of Aid, who it goes to, the conditions that are attached to that aid, make sure its in the form of Aid and not loans that have to be repaid, have no strings attached as to where that Aid can be spent, many countries give "tied aid" thats dependent on the recipient buying goods and services from the donor country at often vastly inflated prices and no "conditionalities" imposed on the Aid, such as privatisation or the opening up of recipients markets , oh yes there are so many ways we can make Aid delivery better, and of course there has to be proper and effective checks and balances both in the donor country and the recipient country to try to prevent fraud and corruption.Because as you've said yourself, the government does a poor job of it, and in truth its not their job! Before technology increased, cars, air etc. Who divided the resources to help the poor??? It surely was not the government, but people in communities who came together to help each other. We are the Church brother!
But if that motivation is powered by Evil Brother Nick, by greed and selfishness, then it can only lead to the death and destruction of those that implement that system and also those that by their support are complicit in it. As you so rightly said, "The ends do not justify the means", we cannot support a system driven by Evil no matter what the perceived benefits are of so doing. We must stand up for the principles that Christ taught, Justice, Compassion and Truth, and to do any less is an abrogation of his teaching and of our professed faith. "For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, if in so doing he loses his soul", ...... You cannot serve God and Mammon", and Capitalism is purely about serving Mammon.Agree!
I support that which motivates people to being creative, because they bring to bear talents that I believe are God given. Right now, capitalism is the one system out there, at least until the return of Jesus, that does that. Oddly, enough in the world that we live in, greed & selfishness move more people to do good than the Love of God does.![]()
Amen to that Brother Nick, but being imperfect and sinful beings in an evil and corrupt world, we have to do our best in all ways to bring the Light of Gods Love into the Darkness. That is why the Gospel and abiding in Christ Jesus, is more powerful than any other confab that one came come up with to solve that can eradicate "sin", as He did on the Cross!
Well, like you in this post I've finished the first part, but still have your next post to go that is a part of it, so don't reply to this one yet!!!

Note: Normally, I double check these postings, but it's getting quite long, and I'm tired. Maybe, the next one will be shorter. I haven't looked at it yet, so it may be a couple of days before getting to it. Ah, it should give you some time to digest this long one!\o/
No problem Brother Nick, as you well know, i'm not known for my prompt replies, but will get round to them eventually.!Apologies for taking so long in responding to the 2nd part of your posting. I'm sure you're chomping at the bit from my 1st part to you. So have at it dear brother!![]()
Yes i'm checking out some of the Salaries paid to the CEO's of some "Christian" charities and find it hard to understand how anyone heading a Christian charity dealing with the poorest people in the world and knowing Christs teaching on wealth and riches can justify taking such vast sums from donors who expect their donations to go towards alleviating the suffering and oppression of the poor and spreading the Gospel as well. But i suppose its give through them, or do it yourself, and i doubt whether many of us would consider travelling to these places of extreme poverty and distributing the aid ourselves, and that doesnt take into account the cost of so doing. So as you say, check out the amount actually spent on programmes, what the programmes are and give accordingly. We are ALL wretched sinners living in an Evil and Corrupt world for sureYou definitely need to check on the organization be it religious or secular in nature before contribution to it. Before I retired I used to donate through the State Government in which they had a site where it would check on non-profits and how much they use of it went to the actual program, vs administrative costs. I've seen some that the administrative spending percentage is larger than what they distribute to the actual program they are supposed to be helping! Disgusting, and yet people still give to them.![]()
A point well made Brother Nick and i have adjusted my giving to channel more of my donations to Christian based charities who will not only feed the body with food and Aid but the Soul as well with Christs Love and the Gospel. There are still a few specialist secular charities i support, but if i find a Christian based organisation doing the same i'll support them instead. As you have seen, just because its religious or secular for that matter there is no guarantee that they are doing with the funds donated they profess to be doing. At least to a percentage that is reasonable. Above 70-80% I'd say would be reasonable, but that's me. lol However, that really isn't the point that I'm trying to show you is it?
That’s the issue, isn’t it? If they never hear, how will they know whom to praise? They will end up praising the offices of organizations that have said nothing about Jesus instead what they have done for them. The belly is filled, but the spirit remains lost.
The real problem, when dealing with the deprivation of a person’s mind, body, and soul, is the opportunity to present the Gospel. What they do with it is between them and God—just as with the two thieves on the cross. Both heard the same message; only one believed. The other remains between him and God. The end result is that they both still died. Selah
“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?” (Romans 10:14)
How will the secular organizations you have donated to know that you are a believer in Jesus Christ, and will they communicate that to those they help? Face to face, your actions might let them see Jesus at work in and through you. Through those organizations they will not. Recipients can just as easily credit the secular group, or any other name like Buddha, Islam, Humanism, instead of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Many thanks Brother Nick , and i wish you the same. That is but another reason I love you as a dear Brother in Christ Jesus!
Fair you well and keep the faith!
With the Love in Christ Jesus.

So TrueCapitalism openly encourages the love of wealth, which the Bible says "is the root of all evil." Capitalism is the worst system imaginable, resulting in billionaires who own yachts, land they never use and multiple expensive homes, while widows and orphan children remain homeless and destitute. There is nothing more anti-Christ than that. There is no legitimate way to defend capitalism, which is the opposite of what Jesus and the New Testament clearly teach.
You say that God doesnt have a bias in favour of the poor and oppressed and against the Rich, so what do you make of Luke 6:20-25, here it is,I would not say that God is "biased" toward the poor and otherwise oppressed, but rather, God commands us to especially in particular help them because they are most in need of our help. There is no legitimate argument about what that help should be, because Jesus gave us many examples, including poor Lazarus and the rich man and the good Samaritan story, where a Smartian, the "illegals" of their society, went way out of his way to help a total stranger.
Because you were not paid by George and his son does not mean the organizers didn't draw seventeen hundred for making a fool out of you.Protesters are not paid by George Soros or anyone else. I've been involved with many protests, where not a single person was paid a dime, not even those who are disabled and in wheelchairs. When a nation has people in wheelchairs protesting about having no healthcare, there is something severely wrong with that nation.
The claim that protestors are paid is a Trumpian lie, of which there are a myriad of lies beyond number.

Hi Richard, i said i'd finish my reply and here it is, jsut a couple more examples of what i see as Gods/Christs bias ,for the poor and against the rich.Capitalism openly encourages the love of wealth, which the Bible says "is the root of all evil." We have a problem in communication here, you made a statement about Somali influence in the protests, alls i'm asking is for you to validate that claim and to give me your reasons why you believe its so, what is the problem? I'm not asking you to "serve" me or "do my bidding", just validate the claim you made, what could be simpler? You admit you know how to do research but you expect me to do your bidding? Nope, I serve Yashua, only.
And I told you, news reports. Even the left wing Disney owned Fox News covered this.We have a problem in communication here, you made a statement about Somali influence in the protests, alls i'm asking is for you to validate that claim and to give me your reasons why you believe its so, what is the problem? So what youre saying is, "The lack of evidence of payment is the evidence of payment, otherwise those that are getting paid would look so bad for admitting it",....... sounds like your classic "Conspiracy theory" to me, theres no evidence somethings taking place, but the lack of evidence is proof someones covering it up ,so it must be taking place,......... yeh that sure makes sense. And if you were getting paid, you wouldnt admit it, as that would make you look bad. Sooooo.....
What a ridiculous assumption. I simply dont know you from adam. The online community is not known for being completely honest.
