What "was not" freely restored unto Adam because of his sin that believers, after Christ's death and resurrection, must exercise to restore and put on in obedience through God's word. Without doing so will result in unbelief, unfruitfulness and fainting which the believer will end up forfeiting Eternal Life if not obeyed (Gal. 6:7-9).
Ephesians 4:22
That you put off concerning the former behavior the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Ephesians 4:23
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Ephesians 4:24
And that you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Every born again believer has received the "free gift" of the Holy Ghost and deliverance through the remission of their sins (Acts 2:38, 3:19), but every believer is responsible and accountable to put on and develop in the character of Jesus Christ. The character of Jesus Christ is the Fruit of the Spirit, which if a believer chooses to obey God and put it on, they will be Holy and without blame before God in love (Eph. 1:4). But if the believer refuses to put on the Holiness of God, they will not see Him.
Hebrews 12:3
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest you be "wearied" and "faint" in your minds.
Galatians 6:9
And let us not be "weary" in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if (conditionally) we "faint" not.
Hebrews 12:14
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
The character of Jehovah God was the only thing not restored unto man that God created for Adam at the time of creation. Everything Earthly blessing except the character of Christ was restored to Noah when he found grace in God's sight (Gen. 6:8 and Chapter 9).
