There are some that claim, "All spirits go to the Father upon their death."! Are there others that believe this? And if so, just what do YOU mean by 'spirit'?
While thinking about that, let's read some of God's words;
Eccl.9
[2] All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.
Wow! Whatever event Solomon is talking about, it is NOT a respecter of persons. It touches the righteous AND the wicked.
[3] This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.
So the event is Death! It happens to us ALL!
[5] For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
[6] Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.
[7] Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works.
[8] Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment.
[9] Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
[10] Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
King Solomon could not be more clear in what he was telling us.
- There is ONE event that come to ALL. Whether you are good, or bad it will happen to everybody.
- This event is DEATH!
- Eat, drink and be merry! The time to do the works God will accept is NOW! While you are alive.
- Stay ready for we know not the time nor hour.
- Love thy wife and live life to the fullest. Whatever you have to do, do it NOW!!!
- Because once you are dead, there is no more work that can be done. There is no wisdom nor knowledge in the grave where you go.
That's pretty simple. When you are dead you are dead!
Let's read what God made man from;
Gen.2
[7] And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
So we have dirt and the breath of life from God that man is made of. And what happens to man after he dies? The “breath of life” that was put into man to make him a soul is taken away…..that’s it! And after a very long time that body that God made from dust goes right back to being dust. And this happens to ALL that die. Now let's read what God's breath of life is called....
Job 9
[18] He will not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitterness.
Job 27
[3] All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;
Here Job calls the breath within, “the spirit of God”.
So when man dies, God's spirit leaves him. And where does it go? Back to the one that gave it; God! And what is the spirit that goes back to God? "All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;"
This is what God's word tells us returns to him upon death.
So....back to my question, "There are some that claim, "All spirits go to the Father upon their death."! Are there others that believe this? And if so, just what do YOU mean by 'spirit'?
