Do all saved people produce good fruit?

I have herd a lot of people say they believe and they are saved, yet they live in sin example and probably the biggest threat to man kind IMO sexually immoral. So are they saved are not.

the best I can tell from scripture is they are not saved even though they say with there lips they beleive. (unless they repent)

1 Corinthians 6:9
do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,

the above scripture seems pretty clear to me if you are any of those things you ain't getting in heaven unless you repent.

SO for those that say all you have to do is believe and you will go to heaven, it seems to me that perhaps the word "believe" is thrown around to loosely and gives people the wrong idea. Kind like fire insurance (I believe because I dont want to go to hell ) with no real conviction to believing.

SO does real believing produce fruits, and results in a person changed life ? I think so

Will you see a change in a person that truly believes? It may take some time but I think so

Can a person be saved and still live a life of sin? I really do not know and am not about to put it to the test, but my gut says no. (He may stumble)


Can a person who is saved and has been producing fruit turn bad?? I do not think they can, but really I am not sure and will not put that to the test.

Well no they cant live a life of sin because it will end up killing them..not straightaway but it will catch up on them. When adam and eve ate the forbidden fruit they didnt die straightaway.

The thing is God has mercy on sinners.
He also gives grace to the humble.

Christians are living by grace. Sinners are at His mercy.

Just to add yes believing does produce fruits. Also this can take some time.

Parable of the sower shows that on good soil, the seed sown is fruitful. Another thing i learned about fruit trees is they like to have other fruit trees around them...for pollination. There is more chance of fruit if you are in the body of christ..ie, the church than if you are by yourself.

Good questions. From my understanding of scripture, if we live a sinful lifestyle, i.e. if we walk in sin (according to the flesh), i.e. if we make a practice of willfully sinning against God, we don't know God, we don't love God, we are liars (if we say we do know him), and we do not have the promise of eternal life with God (See: Ro. 6:1-23; Ro. 8:1-14; Eph. 4:17-24; Lu. 9:23-25; John 6:35-66; 1 Jn. 2:3-6; et al).

But, if by the Spirit we are putting to death the deeds of the flesh, we will live with Christ for eternity (See: Ro. 8:1-14; cf. Lu. 9:23-25). This is not to say we will never sin (See: 1 Jn. 2:1-2), but that we should not be walking in sin; not making a practice of willfully sinning against God. There are plenty of scriptures that say we must repent, we must turn from our sins, we must not live in sin and practice sin, or we don't have eternal life with God. We need to remember that James said that even the demons believe and they shudder, but they are obviously not saved.

As I reading a bible study this morning it said something in the lines of you can believe and have salvation, but you are not considered a disciple unless you pick up the cross and try to live like Jesus. That really struck it home for me. It was written much better then that but the point is pretty clear I think.

Jesus opened up a closed door, but no unprepared person can walk through it. What preparation is needed? Has not God also provided through His Son the means to be properly prepared?

Can we start along the right road and lose our way? In the natural, in our flesh, the answer is most certainly, yes. What about in the spiritual?

Consider where Adam and Eve were in the Garden before they sinned? They were clean [no sin, no bad habits, etc.] were walking and talking with God, were they not? Did they have more than you and I who have met Jesus have? I think not, But, we have an opportunity to do something they did not do before their sin. We can partake of the right tree. Once they had sinned they were locked out from the Tree of Life.

When we met Jesus, our lives were certainly changed for the better, but until we have partaken of the right Tree, we are not better than Adam and Eve. They were capable of sin for which the wages were death. Similarly we are capable of sin for which the wages are death.

If you don't really know the answer, the best thing to do as I see it is to NOT try it.

"...Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." Matt 4:7

If we eat garbage regularly instead of good nourishing food, what will become of our natural body of flesh?

Is our "new" or "inner man" any different? Our new man is being given the opportunity to do it right. Adam and Eve had the opportunity and misused it. We do not have a free ride. We must use what we have now been given through the sacrifice of Jesus to prepare ourselves, to go through the gate [into the Garden] and then to eat of the right Tree.

Remembering that God is no respecter of persons, Are we better than Adam and Eve so that we do not have to work correctly with our opportunity? For us it is the first opportunity as it was with them. They could have failed and they did fail.

We also can fail. Jesus paid the price and all of the necessary tools have been provided. We have even been supplied with a written Book on who to proceed [the Bible] and the power to walk every pathway that it necessary to walk.

If we choose not to use all of the tools that have been given to us, what will the result be?

Dave M speaking of sexual immorality I think christians, believers ought to be very careful what books, tv and music they are choosing to spend time watching listening or reading because it can and DOES affect your mind.

I have noticed for me that if I read a novel or watch a programme even though its fiction but it has a sex scene in it, later I get attacked demonically because it will try and seduce me. I would not ordinarily be thinking of it but because its in the story and someone else is having an affair, or fornicating, it will affect my thinking.

You would not think something like a drama or novel can do that but its pretty much the same as exposing yourself to porn. I have decided I dont need this Nd dont want demons attacking me (especiAlly in my sleep) so even if its recommeneded to me by a church member Im not going to expose myself to it or eat the garbage. This is where you need to have your mind on the Word of God not man.

All true "born again" Christians are born of the "seed" of the Word of God by the Holy Spirit. Being born of the Holy Spirit causes fruit to come forth that does not come from the person himself, but from the tree, which came from the "seed" planted, which is the Word of God. No man can fake the fruit of the Spirit because that is God in man!!! This is why the scripture says........

1John 3:9 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.


Don't forget, seeds produce after their own kind!!!

Does salvation come before or after discipleship do you think..I think as long as we abide in Christ salvation is 100% sure as without him we can do nothing.

I mean there is nothing that cannot be forgiven if we repent..except for blasphemy of the holy spirit.
Discipleship is not easy its a learning process.

In bapist churches i notice they teach justification..and then sanctification.its in the bible but they emphasise those words over salvation and discipleship.

Eternal life is the result of salvation in Christ (John 3:16);

eternal rewards are the result of successful discipleship (Matthew 16:27)

Do all saved people produce good fruit?

Yes. Our fruit is the acid test by which we can judge each other. A bad tree cannot bear good fruit.

We just have to always remember that as Jesus says, only God is good. So whilst we will bear good fruit, we may go through times where we don't bear much or pop out some rotten ones.

This is where mortal and venial sins make sense. A good tree can never produce poisonous fruit. A Christian can commit venial sins but not many mortal sins. We will never be perfect as God is. But that is not to say we will ever be capable of living in mortal sins. Continuing in theft that robs the poor. Continuing in murder. Continuing in sexual immorality, such as fornication, adultery and what not else on a similar scale.

We must be careful not to beat ourselves up. We will always have sin. So we must learn to judge ourselves truthfully.

We need to constantly discuss matters like this as there are more and more people ''claiming / wanting'' to be Christians to get to heaven instead of go to hell. Get rich, get healed and live a cushy life where pride is elevated and Christianity on our terms is a nice addition.
