Paul had absolutely no problem using the name Satan. Three (3) times he used the name Satan - in this very same epistle. So put yourself back into the position of the reader at the time when Paul wrote this phrase. Who was the "god of this world"? The Roman Emperor was. And Paul was shrewd as a serpent to avoid overtly saying the Roman Emperor was blinding people (by the laws requiring Roman religious observance) or he would have been tracked down and killed.

That is one way of looking at it which I have no problem agreeing with, but there enough references to be able to equate this with Satan as well though his name is not always mentioned. If one were to go along with your reasoning, then one would ask "Who is pushing the Roman Emperor's buttons that he does what he does?". Oh, and please don't mention Nebuchadnezzar

Satan's agenda with his First Gang of Fallen Angels was to breed a race of giants, monsters, Nphilims, hybrids. GOD drowned them all in The Flood.
After The Flood his agenda was to get false doctrines accepted everywhere.
He succeeded until the 1260 years were up.
When Jesus was transferred from heaven to Earth Satan was finally cast out of heaven and brought with him his Second Gang.
