Did Judas Want a Second Chance?

I think that we all want second, third, forth...chances. I have pondered this passage for years and have come to the conclusion that I am not to judge even Judas. This is what is written and it deserves a close look and the Holy Spirit, to help define exactly what Jesus meant in His words.

20Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, "Lord, who is going to betray you?") 21When Peter saw him, he asked, "Lord, what about him?"

22Jesus answered, "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me." 23Because of this, the rumor spread among the brothers that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?"

We were commanded to love our enemies, yet we all consider Judas our enemy and condemn him, rather than see him as one that Jesus did love.

The love of Jesus, transcends all of our prejudiced thoughts. We can not single out any soul and say that it is not worthy of the love of Christ.
We simply do not know. God and His ways are above us. He asks us to forgive even those we consider enemy.

You all know that Jesus preaches love and forgiveness. He died on the cross and by this expressed His deep devotion to us, the sinners. "Father forgive them, for they know not what they are doing." A little bit like us, when we even make judgment about Judas.

This is a common theological reasoning for casting our blame on Judas. I have blamed him too, but I just kind of figure that I better not.

# Matthew 26:24
The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born."

Judas the betrayer. Jesus our Saviour. The Father and forgiveness. Do we single out anyone, or leave this satan possessed man in the hands of Christ and should we not do this with everyone and leave them until the return of Christ?

We can not boast of our love for God, if we do not follow His will. I do love the Lord Jesus Christ. I listen to His words and ponder about what He is telling us. Jesus is our King and Saviour. Praise be to the Mighty One, the Lamb of God, the only One worthy. Amen:Pixie:sun:

Sister, one thing I am learning each and every day, even more is that we shouldn't "assume". You give great support for your words.

Whatever the resurrection of those in Christ will bring, it will bring closure the most.

I can't say Judas wanted a second chance, did he really follow Jesus? Did He believe in Him or was He cut off?

I can't say Judas will be heaven, why does my Lord say it's better not to be born if I betrayed Him?

I can't Judas will not be heaven, as all judgment belongs to God, and God alone.

God bless
Much love

"We all consider Judas our enemy......?"

All who understand the heart of Jesus and His ministry to to men know that Judas could have repented of his sin, and found Salvation.

There could have been a "Gospel According to Judas" had he found a place for repentance.

A little bit of praise

I was really trying to make a point based on what Jesus said. What is it to us? That being, it is Jesus who judges.
My Lord Jesus, I love You. You are so wonderful, bringing home the sheep that God gave You. Holy Spirit, please feed the sheep. Heavenly Father, please give Jesus even more sheep.
Father, I have bonded with You, for what seems like a lifetime. Through the love of Jesus Christ I ask You to keep this site Talk Jesus, so Christian in its works.
Special blessing Father, for Chad and all the moderators, who are doing such a wonderful job keeping peace and not division in this online community.
God bless you Stephen. I really like all of you moderators. You have a lot of intergity and common sense.
Amen:Pixie:love:

This is where the power of money comes into play. Even today, people are blinded by money and they put money before God. We don't need half the things that we buy.

Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

I see it happening every day. Personally, I know God made each one of us differently, some are rich, some are average and some are really poor. He has given some of us with so much financial blessings, for a good reason, as I feel those people who are blessed financially, are the ones, which should help the really needy people. Like orphans or widows, these people need our help.

Judas did repent, according to Mat 27:3

Mat 27:3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

Jesus spoke to our Father and asked Him to forgive those who were going to crucify him. So I am sure, Jesus prayed to the Father and asked Him to forgive Judas.

Luk 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Mat 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

Judas acknowledged that he made a mistake, when he gave the money back to priest and elders. I know he hanged himself.

Mat 27:5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.
