Did Abram meet his great grand father?

Abram’s great grand father was Serug and he died 26 years after Abram left Harran.

The Book of Genesis tells us that Abram was born 292 years after the Flood, and that Shem, the son of Noah, and six of the nine other of the generations after Shem were alive after Abram left for Harran when he was aged 75 years old. And Abram was 58 years old when Noah died. Whereas Shem lived 135 years after Abram left Harran. Anyway, all the ten genrations of fathers from Noah to Abram’s father were alive when Abram was alive. The first to die was Peleg aged aged 239 years when Abram was 48 years old.

So is it plausible that Abram arctually spoke with, or even knew about Shem, one of the builders of the Ark?

PS
“These [are] the generations of Shem: Shem [was] an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood: And Shem lived after he begat Arphaxad five hundred years, and begat sons and daughters. And Arphaxad lived five and thirty years, and begat Salah: And Arphaxad lived after he begat Salah four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters. And Salah lived thirty years, and begat Eber: And Salah lived after he begat Eber four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters. And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg: And Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters. And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu: And Peleg lived after he begat Reu two hundred and nine years, and begat sons and daughters. And Reu lived two and thirty years, and begat Serug: And Reu lived after he begat Serug two hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters. And Serug lived thirty years, and begat Nahor: And Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters. And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah: And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters. And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.’ Genesis 11:10-26

Did Abram meet his great grand father? yes.
and as you've noted, Abraham could have seen his grand fathers up to Noah, that is, 10 generations lived at the same time.
Noah, Shem, Arphaxad, Salah, Eber, Peleg, Reu, Serug, Nahor, Terah, were all still alive when Abraham, the son of Terah, was born. "The first to die was Peleg aged aged 239 years when Abram was 48 years old." as you correctly put it.

Quite interesting, I'd say. I mean Abraham could have heard the story of the worldwide flood from Noah himself. Couldn't Abraham have heard of the true God who spoke to Noah about the flood and how Noah obeyed and was saved, he and his family? I think it's very possible. Couldn't this have helped Abraham to obey God by faith wherein he's called the friend of God? Again possible, but since scripture does not specifically tell us, I won't be dogmatic about this. According to scriptures, in Heb. 11:8, "by faith Abraham.." and Heb 11:7, "by faith Noah..." so everyone need to approach God by their own faith, Heb 11:6. So just supposing that Noah did speak to Abraham about his obedience to God during the time of the flood, we could still learn various things.

I think this can encourage us in many ways. One of them, being to encourage grand fathers to teach their grandchildren how obeying God is a matter of life and death. It could also talk of the importance of fathers teaching their children about the Christ, whom they have seen in their own lives, fatherhood, and many other things of life.

To your other question,
"So is it plausible that Abram arctually spoke with, or even knew about Shem, one of the builders of the Ark?"
I say, very. He could even have spoken to Noah, as i said before. A chart made by using verses from such scripture as one you've used above, can clearly show that.

If i may ask, how can one know from scripture when Abraham left Haran?

Please see Genesis 12:5, which gives Abram's age as 75 years old when he left Harran.

Thanks

Thanks. It starts from the previous verse, Gen 12:4-5.

The chart i was talking about can be found by simply searching for
"cse longetivity chart" and going to the 'freehovind' link for a pdf
or can consider buying their big laminated 11"x 17" size at 'shopping.drdino.com'

Again thanks. I see you're doing the study directly from scripture which is the right way.
I, on the other hand, am using a chart from someone who also used scripture. I'm not taking from
the word directly myself, which could also explain why i did not know the verse you just told me.
Oh, how this makes me want to go read the word more!
Thanks, my desire to study the word more and more has just increased.
God bless you, sir.
