DEMONOLOGY 103
I have gotten so many responses from people all over the world who are making strong steps to break the ties of Satan that have bound them. People who have lived in fear, depression, even bound with controlling people around them and so much more. Thank God.
Never before in my lifetime have I seen such unrest in the world. We have seen tragedy. This is undeniable. Rwanda, Iraq, wars, terror attacks, hurricanes, tornadoes, and other natural disaster have covered the headlines for years. But what is happening right now is something different. Never before has there been a worldwide onslaught of disaster simultaneously. Between the wars worldwide, there are also natural disasters: floods killing hundreds of thousands; droughts, snow storms, and ice storms are covering the planet today. Something is moving; something is stirring and the earth is responding.
The demonic spirit I want to make you aware of today is the "Spirit of Error", found in 1 John 4:6. Error is the spirit that keeps you blinded to the truth and we know the Bible says that when you know the truth, it will make you free. What better way to keep the unsaved from seeing His truth and the converts from getting completely free than by getting and keeping them bound? This spirit keeps the lost bound from seeing the truth. He fills their minds and hearts with arguments against it. In the church, if you have been bound with this spirit before salvation, or if you were involved in a cult and never received deliverance, this spirit will keep you immature in Christ. Ever learning but never growing.
Some of the manifestations of this spirit are immaturity, inappropriate thinking/behavior, confusion, doubt/unbelief, deception, compromise, anti-semitism (or hatred or ungodly thoughts toward the Jewish peoples), intellectualism, cults (false doctrines), false teachers, false prophets and preachers, a lying tongue, and racism .
It takes a humble person – pride is the greatest enemy to being free – for a person to tell someone that they are bound. But you need to make your need for freedom known to someone who is capable of seeing you set free. It always begins with the truth, because truth always sets free.
Error caused Hitler to think his "arian" race was superior to any other living and that only they should be allowed to procreate and fill the earth. Error causes people today to see the Jews as the "killers of Jesus" Error causes some false religions to make war against all who do not adhere to their teachings. Error causes people to be blinded to everything except what he, the demon, wants them to see. Error is always in the midst of a person deceived.
Error is when you think you can gossip, complain and be angry with someone and there will be no spiritual repercussions. The Bible says, "Be not deceived, God will not be mocked..." meaning He will not be taken lightly or His word excused as not the utmost authority. "...be not mocked for whatsoever a man sows, that will he also reap." That means if you sow in gossip, anger, judgment, complaining, and any other sin of the mouth, you will also of that same seed that is falling from you lips, receive it back to you.
Error is when you think God considers you the one exception to sexual purity, even in marriage. Looking and lusting is adultery. A single person once said to me that God, knowing we live in different times and temptations, understands the way they are living. My only response was, "God is not hip, He's holy."
Error is not being content with what you have. The Bible says, "Godliness WITH CONTENTMENT is great gain." That means even in times or years when everything is lean, and you can't do the things you see others do (vacations, buying lots of clothing, new cars, bigger houses, etc), you are thankful for what you have. Paul said he learned how to be abased and how to abound. That means, even when he was so poor he had little to eat, he learned thankfulness. It means he also learned how to be humble and consider his excess money as still belonging to God in the times when he abounded.
Error is when you think God understands you divorcing yourselves from divine relationships and other friendships he placed in your life because you are offended. I am always so shocked when people tell me, "I am so offended..." as though offense is not sin. Some even act on it by not getting things right, or leaving when things are not fun and smooth. I remember a time a few months ago when offense hit my heart in the hardest way. I felt fury, not just anger, toward someone. I was doing things with this person on a weekly basis. And there was nothing that could be done to make it better or go away. All I could do is confess my sin, the offense, to God and ask Him to change my heart toward what was done. Otherwise, I would not have finished the year with this person.
Even people I know that are unsaved know this is wrong behavior. A close friend that I talk to every month or so, praying she will get saved, conducts herself in a more godly way than some in the church. And I am not exempt. I face the same challenges in the realm of my emotions that you do. We all have to grow up and have to behave according to the word of God at times like this. Otherwise, the spirit of error will take me, and my heart will stay deceived, thinking I have a right to feel ____.
We have no rights. Our lives are not our own. I have no choice to make in how I will react if I have made Jesus my Lord and neither do you. The only choice we have to make is whether we will continue to make Jesus our Lord from that moment on. He can be my Lord yesterday and I get my feelings hurt or get angry or something else happens and at that point, the only choice I make is whether Jesus is still my Lord. If He is, I HAVE to forgive. I HAVE to let things go. I HAVE to be content in all things. I HAVE to bless and not curse. I HAVE to keep walking with those He has placed in my life. I HAVE to release and pray my mind, will and emotions line up with His word. If not, I may say Jesus is my Lord, but my actions deny that. I am walking in error and soon, if I don't repent, Error will be my Lord...even if I am singing in the choir or preaching powerful messages. My life and your life has to line up with the word of God.
You will know the truth and the truth will set you free. To stay free from the spirit of error, or to get free from his grip, we must renounce our flesh and our desire to have our way and line up with His truth – the Word of God – in all we do.
