[/LEFTDEALING WITH TEMPTATION, YOUR IN A BATTLE-AGAINST WHO? Let's explore this first of six parts. Ephesians 6:12 (NASB):For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places. Let's break this verse down. First we have the "STRUGGLE". This term in some translation is referred to as wrestle, to "struggle or wrestle," here is seen in a literal sense as HAND to HAND combat. "is not against flesh and blood. The Holy Spirit
here is trying to convey to our spirit, that our struggle or we do not wrestle with, or not to engage ourselves in hand to hand combat with men, our brothers or our sister, in all the real battle is not one we put our hands on. Its more complexes, for it is Spiritual. The (NASB) breaks the latter half (1/2) of the verse down into four (4) strats;(1) AGAINST RULERS;(2) AGAINST POWERS;(3) AGAINST DARKNESS;(4) AGAINST WICKED SPIRITS. The designations describes the different strats and ranking of those demons and the evil supernatural empire in which they operate. Satan's forces of darkness are highly structured for the most destructive purpose (JMSBPG1784). Let's take the first two strats and combine them for a better for a better over all context. Against Rulers and against Powers. What Rulers? The rulers of this world, the leaders that are in control of this, remember we're in the world but we're not of this world, and the Powers, that which is established, basically we are not to conform to this worldly structure, the world is one of our FOES. It wants us to be a part of it and its ruler is comfortable with you and I just compromising to it. Look at EXODUS 8:25; And Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land. He"p's saying go, but you've got to come back. Look at verse (28); And pharaoh said, I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go fare away: entreat for me. The world, the Rulers and the Powers, if they can't get to conform their happy to get you compromise. This is a toe hold, the crack in your armor, this is one of the satisfying of the flesh, my believe is that it represents the phrase (LOOK WARM). There is also a good examples of this in EXODUS 10:7-11&24-26,(LOOK THEM UP). Now the third and fourth (3&4) strata's against Darkness and Wicked Spirit's; This is satan and his demons. I want you know that your the target in a one sided war. Satan is not equal to or has the ability to conquer God. The book of Revelation shows his end. And its not portrayed as any kind of victory, he's defeated and cast into the Lake of Fire and brimstone, REV 20:10. Here is a list scriptures where you can see the existence that is scripturaly referenced of satan and demon's:Worship in false religions honors demons (PSA 106:37);Demons try to hinder God's plan (Daniel 10:13);Demons are no match for Jesus (Mark 1:34);Demons want to destroy people (Mark 5:5);Demons submit to the name of Jesus (Luke 10:17);Demons can be driven out by Jesus followers (Acts 16:16-18);Demons are powerful (Acts 19:16);Demons can't separate people from God's love (Romans 8:38-39);Demons deceive people (2 Cor 11:13-15);Christians fight against the plans of demons(Ephesians 6:12 OUR TEXT);Demons want to miss lead people(1Timothy 4:1-2);Demons believe in God(James 2:19);Demons are angles who have sinned(2Peter 2:4);God will judge demons(Jude 1:6);Don't take demons lightly(Jude 1:8-9);Demons can work miracles(Revelation 16:13-14);In the last days demons will be bound by God(Revelation 20:1-3). Now are scriptural references to satan;Satan is under God's authority(Job1:6-12);Satan will tempt Jesus followers(Matthew 4:1-11);Satan is completely evil(John 8:44);Satan is the temporary ruler over the world(Ephesians 2:1-2);Satan and his demons are spiritual(Ephesians 6:12,OUR TEXT)Satan works through an army of demons(1 Timothy 4:1);Believers have authority to resist satan(James 4:1-10);Satan is an enemy to Christians(1 Peter 5:8);Jesus destroyed Satan work with His death on the cross(1 John 3:7-8);Satan is a defeated enemy(Revelation 20:10). We must never forget that as Christians we will come under attack from the enemy, why? "Because YOU ARE IN A BATTLE". And in this Battle we must know who our enemy is, therefore we must protect ourselves, how? Through Jesus Christ! We're to let our savior fight our battle. This is one(1) of a six (6) part series that I'm under taken for the DEALING WITH TEMPTATION. My prayers are that this may help you in your struggles. Cry out to Jesus He is your light and Savior. May God bless you for Jesus sake Amen. YORT (TROY)

The battle is heavenly principles and practices against secular principles and practices. It is immorality challenging morality all the day long. It is dishonesty challenging integrity all the day long. It is selfishness challenging unselfishness all the day long.
The driving force behind every sin under the sun is selfishness, which is why all things whatsoever Christ teaches us is unselfishness only, with no slightest spot of selfishness in any thing He teaches. For where there is no selfishness, there is no sin.

The battle lies between the ears. Jesus was crucified at Golgotha (the place of the skull) and we are to do the same dieing to our old ways of thinking.
Anyplace we are renewed in our minds we will have godly thoughts and our body follows our mind, it is only as this happens that we truly see the life of Christ revealed in us. All these things happen as we make godly choices; willingly die to self; thinking like Jesus as we receive and believe the Word of God as revealed by the Holy Spirit.
We receive a new spirit when we are born again.
We receive a new body at the resurrection.
He is the Savior of our soul (mind, will, intellect, emotions, etc).

The battle is between our sinful nature (Satan) and the indwelling Holy Spirit. So the battle belongs to the Lord since only Jesus has victory over Satan. So Jesus is going to win the battle within us because "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion."
