For the last 72 hours, all the mass of the universe has existed. In the first 24 hours light was created and the spherical deep rotated through the first day and night period. The next revolution saw the division of the waters by the creation of the expanse of the heavens in between them. For the last 24 hours the below the expanse waters were gathered into seas and the dry earth was made to appear. With light, air, soils, and water, the stage was set for plant life and they were created within their kinds. The waters above the expanse and their mass which waited during the 3rd Day’s work are now operated upon to fill up and finish the heavens vast reaches of space with heavenly bodies. The astronomical universe with its stars and galaxies along with our own solar system receives its orders and organization, structure and functions during this 4th Day.

As we have noted before, fiat exnihilo creation and fiat cosmic formation makes true truth possible, given the creation of man in the image after the likeness of God, and given that God is not silent, but speaks to man: The word operating in creation, and the word inspired in the roll of the book. “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven,” creates and forms all the shinning and reflecting bodies of the heavens. Lights are light bearers, (Heb. ma-or), or torches that mediate the immediate light, (Heb. or), created on day one. In other words that first light, (or), now resides in them. Therefore the physics that governs them in this capacity is now operating, energized and balanced. “To divide the day from the night,” attaches a dividing purpose onto their light mediation relative to earth time. “And let them be for:” further delineates that earth time purpose by listing four functions they are to provide: “for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.” The next verse, rather than a reiteration, is more of an expansion of these four functions allowing for the summary of their functions under their main operation of shining light down on the earth: “15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.” There is theological purpose to the physics. There is “Why” behind the “How”.
Even the weekday names are not arbitrary. Each day is given a name from the 7 luminous bodies that move across the Mazoroth ecliptic: Sunday and Monday for sun and moon; Tuesday for Tuves’ = Anglo-Saxon Mars; Wednesday for Woden’s = Mercury; Thursday for Thor’s = Jupiter; Friday for Friga’s = Venus; and Saturday for Saturn’s day. In all languages from antiquity the order is always the same. Even when the ordinal days do not coincide with the same object, yet the order is the same no mater where the sequence starts. J.A. Seiss links this literary data to a pre-Babel universal alphabet. Isn’t it logical that there would be one, seeing God gave this record in writing right from the beginning to Adam? Reading is creational.

The Eastern Magi, who came to worship the Jewish King, bear this out in history, and a recent video, The Star of Bethlehem by Frederick A. Larson is an intriguing documentary on this. There will be signs in the heavens at their ending too: “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;” (Lk.21:25). Also: “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to [give] the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2Cor.4:3-6).
Did the moon shine only in the night, and not ever in the day? If so, then a different orbital arrangement than exists today must have been changed. If a 360 day year did exist, perhaps before the flood and the disturbances associated with it, then the lunar and the solar periods could have been evenly balanced? Good forensic science would ask, What would the evidence be? Walter Brown’s Hydroplate Theory not only suggests some flood mechanisms capable of doing this kind of change, but also explains asteroids and meteors in the process. I would expect this of science; after all, the perturbations of the universe are all ordered by the word of God, the same who gave language to mankind that he might know Him. I can see why understanding is sought after like gold.
“He made the stars also” is a marvelous understatement. He made their gravity, electromagnetic, and atomic energies, forces, and structures as well. But, that He worked so locally in the earth, moon, planets, and sun, makes the vast reaches of space now occupied by stars to pertain mainly to earth in their mediation of verbally ordered light down onto its surface. Space is large, but God is larger; sub-atomic dimensions are small, but God is smaller. Size, to God, is not an issue. It seems, however, He has tailored both scales to Man’s dwelling on the earth. What is man that Thou art mindful of him? (Job 7:17; Ps.8:4, 144:3; Mat.8:27; Mk.4:41, 6:2; Jn.5:21; Heb.2:6).

A milky way screeches across the heavens in the plane of our home galaxy obliquely to the plane of the ecliptic, (another pathway in which the sun, moon, and planets move, called in Hebrew Mazoroth, which otherwise is called the Zodiac with its 12 constellations and their 36 deacon constellations). Other heavenly bodies such as asteroids, comets, meteors, and planets and their moons not visible to the unassisted eye are either there or foreordained in the clockwork physics for their historical debuts. The physical system is established. Novas, Pulsars, conjunctions, eclipses, radio emissions, gamma-ray bursts, and all other phenomena are arranged for all time unto the end of this present age and perhaps beyond into the new heavens and earth. All these lights are for dividing the light from the darkness, day from night, and for signs, seasons, days, and years, and to give light upon the earth. And those physical lights are delegated meanings pointing out the glory of the Word of God who is that true light that lightens every man that comes into the world. God is light and in Him there is no darkness, (Jn.1:1-14; 1Jn.1:1-10). “No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth [it] in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.” (Lk.11:33).
There are propositions here that Satan, if he is to continue to deceive mankind, hates very much. His lies are pointed and aimed; so is the truth.
TRUTH 1: Stars, starlight and time are created by God with a word 6000 years ago. (a big work)
LIE 1: eternal matter and physics makes stars, starlight, and time; words had nothing to do with it billions of years ago. (a big bang)
TRUTH 2: The creation was designed for mans life, work, fellowship, knowledge, and love of God and fellow man. Words mean things; there will be judgment.
LIE 2: Man is an accident in the cosmos, a contradiction (a personal impersonal), or he is the cosmos becoming aware of itself, another contradiction (a pantheistic personal). Words mean no thing and anything; there is no judgment.
TRUTH 3: Language exists in the heavens as their light shines down on earth, designed by their creator (absolute astronomy and gospel signs=gospel in the stars).
LIE 3: Hallucinations exist in the heavens imagined by men (insanity), or the cosmos controls man (relative astronomy and astrology=pantheistic stars).
TRUTH 4: Earth is significant in the plan of God for man in His image to dwell in. (cosmos subordinate to it) Life and light is salvation and resurrection. The heavens show His glory.
LIE 4: Earth is significant only to timid men afraid to die; it is insignificant to the cosmos. There is no resurrection. Life is an illusion, light a myth. The heavens show man’s insignificance.
TRUTH 5: Bible is true truth, and the source of true science. (naturalistic science is not real)
LIE 5: Bible is anything but true truth which does not exist, and an abomination to naturalistic science.
TRUTH 6: The days of the Sabbath week, named from the sun, moon, and 5 visible planets, universally come from the beginning of creation.
LIE 6: Seven day weeks are random inventions of men and not absolute but relative. Facts of history, anthropology and archeology must be explained in some other way.
