1. The catholic church needed a way to keep people
talking to God. They were so threatened by the
reformers and those that followed their truth
teachings that they needed to devise ways to not
only change the truth (preterism, futurism) but also,
create a power tier that would keep those on the
lower level under the power of those on the higher
tier.

2. God's true church is built upon Apostolic Authority
and this is to say that as God calls men as disciples,
they follow Christ, and HE selects them as
apostles. But the Nicolaitans believed in
controlling people and making them submit
to natural authority rather than God. Roman
Catholics took this doctrine and created their
flow of power to keep the people bound by
religious leadership to protect their empire.
Sound familiar? Rev. 2:15 So hast thou also them
that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans,
which thing I hate.

3. The word 'Nicolaitan' comes from a
root meaning "conqueror of the
people". It has to do with holding
sway over people, controlling their
minds, keeping them in subjection
to "authority" out of fear. The
catholic church made
people feel inferior to the
headship and they acted as
a mediator between the
people and God. This kept
the lies of catholicism
going and forced the
people to be children of the
pope or rome. They used
the term father for their
leaders and abused the
term Bishop. Jesus told the
church at Ephesus that he
hated this doctrine! This is because this doctrine
disconnects man from God and puts man in Christ's
place.

“Woe to the rebe#ious children, saith the LORD, that take
counsel, but not of me; and that COVER with A
COVERING, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to
sin: That walk to go down into EGYPT [symbol of captivity
in Scripture], and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen
themselves in the strength of Pharaoh [symbol of Satan and
autocratic dictators in Scripture], and to trust in the shadow of
Egypt! Therefore sha# the strength of Pharaoh be your shame,
and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your CONFUSION.

This is where we get today's idea of a Spiritual Covering.
What is a spiritual covering? Well, we are taught that if
you are going to do ministry, you need a spiritual
covering to "cover" you. Basically this high ranking,
man selected, super apostle ranks higher than you in
God's eyes, so he can see what you can't see and cover
you. He is over you and you answer to him when you
feel you heard from God so he can say yes you heard
from God, or no, you didn't. He acts as your protector
as well so when you have a problem or issue, he can
sit you down and punish you or he can cover up
your problem as well. He talks to God for you
and hears from God for you. You confess your
faults to him and he decides if you are fit to
continue ministering. He is your Pope.

The problem with this concept is that it
is not in the bible. There is NO
scriptures to validate any kind or form
of spiritual covering! 1 Corinthians 4:15
"For though ye have ten thousand instructors
in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for
in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through
the gospel."
Paul fathered many people into
the Gospel, but he was not their
Spiritual Father always. 1Cor. 11:1
Be ye followers of me, even as I also
am of Christ. He would travel,
write letters, and start churches
where people would be born
again. That is fathering a
church, or a person into the
church, but that doesn't make
you a lifetime spiritual father or covering of that person.
He called Timothy his son 2Tim. 1:2 meaning that
Timothy was birthed out of him ministering, but
Timothy never called him Father.

There is only one
father, our Father which is in heaven. Jesus said; "And
call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father
which is in heaven." (Matt. 23:9) Though you may have
been fathered into the faith by a person, it doesn't make
them a perpetual father or covering for you.

• The Catholic Church created this hierarchy to stop people
from having the freedom and liberty to consult God
without them. The pope is God, and the priests are Christ
or mediators called "Spiritual Fathers" or "Holy Fathers".
And so has the protestant church of America and abroad
done. They modeled their church governments after the
government of Rome and have placed people by natural
rank into positions in the churches.
If you are not under a spiritual father or covering, you
are labeled a vagabond or a ******* minister because you
have not submitted to a man. But the bible teaches the
opposite. Though we are to be accountable to those we are
co ministers with, we are not to be under the covering of a
man unless it's a woman under her husbands authority.

1 Corinthians 11:3-15 says:
3 But I want you to understand that Christ is the Head of every
man, and the man (husband) is the head of a (singular) woman
(wife), and God is the Head of Christ.
4 Every MAN who has something on his
Head (Covering) while praying or
prophesying, disgraces his Head (Christ).
5 But every woman who has her head
uncovered (not under the authority of her
husband) while praying or prophesying,
disgraces her head (her husband); for she is
one and the same with her whose head is
shaved (woman taken captive +om
vanquished enemies and forced against
her will to become an Israelite's wife).
6 For if a woman does not cover her head
(a#ow the authority of her husband to
cover and protect her from the spiritual
deception of the devil), let her also have
her hair cut off; but if it is disgraceful for a
woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, let her cover her
head.


• When a denomination or network of churches is formed,
in most cases, a heir-achy is set in place to model that of
the Nicolaitans and the Catholic Church. A super apostle
is elected as the spiritual covering (pope). Then assistants
are selected under him (Bishops). Then the leaders of the
churches are selected. (Priests)Then the lay members are
told they are under the spiritual covering of the most
righteous reverend at the top. The lay members then
become the "children" of the leaders. This is witchcraft!

• When we place people as Lords over our lives, they
control our future. God's place is occupied by man and
the Lordship seat of our lives is taken. Therefore we
cannot hear God for ourselves and we cannot fulfill the
TRUE call that God has on our lives. Either we can hear
God for ourselves, or we can't. Which is it? I John 2:24-
28, “But the anointing which you have received from him abides
in you and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same
anointing teaches you concerning all things and is true and is not a
lie and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.”

• This is the main reason so many women that follow these
types of ministries are single. When your “covering” seat
is taken by the pastor of the church, in the spirit realm,
you are already taken! You are married to the man that is
your spiritual covering. Your spiritual father is your
husband according to the correct interpretation of 1 Corinthians 11!

• Wives should be subject or covered by their husbands
only! And a husband is covered by God only. A spiritual
covering has to be a spiritual bond and that bond is marital
according to the scripture. A shepherd does not give birth
to sheep, he only tends to them. The sheep are God's and
we as pastors and 5 fold ministers feed and tend to them,
but we are not their parents. John 10:27 My sheep hear my
voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

• Can a man lead better than God? Can a man cover better
than God? Can a man teach better than God? Can a man
be a better father than God? Then why do we need a
spiritual father to lead and protect us when we have “abba”
father, a true covering? 1Tim. 2:5 For there
is one God, and one mediator between God
and men, the man Christ Jesus;

“There is never, ever to be any "spiritual
mediators" between God and men,
except the Christ — Jesus Himself. The
Man with the nail-prints in His hands is
the only true spiritual mediator between
God and Man. All the rest are
pretentious impostors! Jesus is the only
Man who ever lived a perfectly sinless
life, which was the requisite enabling
Him to become the Spotless Lamb of
God, the propitiatory sacrifice, typified
by the oblational sacrificial lambs, which
the Jewish high priests offered up for the sins of the people

Summary - We should honor and respect pastors and other
leaders of the body of Christ. But their leadership should be
by teaching and example and not by having more power and
authority over you. There is no such thing as a spiritual
covering according to the bible other than the covering that
a husband provides for his wife. And when men are
operating in apostolic authority, God's word says that they
should NOT have a covering other than God. Though we
have mentors and those that can advise us, they should never
have power over us or out rank us spiritually! Sure we are to
follow the vision of the church that we attend, but that
doesn't make the pastor our father or spiritual covering.
After all, the sheep do not belong to the pastor, but they
belong to God.
John 21:16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of
Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest
that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
