'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.' Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV
Jeremiah was human, so he could never boast perfection. Then again, he represented people who steadfastly resisted transformation. Still, God had an offer to make.
Call to Me. When God said this, the people stubbornly refused to allow Him to lead. They may not have denied His existence, but all they could see was what they had to give up if they came back to God.
I will answer you. God would not be silent. He would not display a cold shoulder. He would not treat them the way they treated Him.
I will tell you great and unsearchable things. God offered His people an education. The things they didn’t know, He would explain.
The people refused to call. They did not listen. They would not learn. God had shown mercy, love, and patience to them, and yet it was rewarded with mockery and dismissal.
He offers the same terms to you. Call and He’ll answer. Listen and His Spirit will teach. You can refuse His offer, but why? It’s one of the best offers you could ever accept.
Prayer: Dear God, I’ve read enough to know that Your plan for new-life living is for my benefit. You don’t keep me from fun things as much as You protect me for the best things. Help me call. Thanks for answering. Thanks for teaching.
