  1. Hey, I just joined this forum in hopes of some guidance. I am what you might call "spiritually lost". Right now, I've narrowed down my prospects to Islam, Christianity, or Buddhism. Which one is the most accepting, loving, caring and kindest? I hope it is this one, and in the coming months you are all able to prove it to me.


  2. Well...Christianity is the only belief system which has a personal God involved, who loves you on an individual basis and knows everything about you. He loves you with an everlasting love--loved you before you were ever born and loves you now. He loves us so much that He sent His own Son to die for us. No other prophet or self-made prophet has done this.

    God is the Creator of the earth and all that the earth holds. He does not bring us pain and sorrow; The world and its sin is what brings us pain and sorrow. Do not blame God, for He has good plans for you.

  3. I will pray that God will reach out to you and touch your heart and that you will accept Him as Lord and Saviour in your life.

    You must not seek what is best for you - you must seek what is right for you and what the truth is.

    There is only one God and not many that you can choose from as you think best.

    I truly believe that if you don't experience the kind of acceptance, love and care that you are seeking on this forum that you will choose another believe. The only thing to say is that life is not simple and you will find that whatever you choose, there will be heartache, pain and disappointment.

    You are going to have to accept Jesus as you Saviour or not, without us having to prove to you that He is the right One to follow. That is what it means to have faith. I do believe that you have a Bible, please read it and attend church services, you will find everything that you want to know written in the Word of God.

    I do pray that God will touch your heart and open your spiritual eyes to the truth.
  4. Hi and welcome.

    Does it matter which one is the most accepting, loving, caring and kindest? Or does it matter that you know the truth? All I can tell you is the truth, which comes directly from the Bible (the Word of God) and to this day cannot be disproved and has been around for thousands of years. The fact that the Bible still exists today is a miracle and not only does it still exist but it still the best seller of all times. It was written by about 40 different authors over a period of 1 500 years. Have you known anything to last even half as long and still be as strong as it is today? Every "religion" is merely just a theory - there is no evidence to validate their findings. Even evolution is just a theory. It cannot be proved. But I can prove 100% without a doubt, and without using the Bible that God exists and I will use logic to prove my case. No one in Islam, Buddasim or any other religion makes claims as strong as Christianity does. None of them have a god who claims to have created the world and none of them have a god who has authority on earth to forgive sins.

    When you look at a building, how do you know there was a builder? When you view a beautiful painting, how do you know there was a painter? It's logical of course. The building is proof there was a builder and the painting is proof there was a painter. In the same way how can creation just exist without a creator? Creation is proof there is a creator.

    I hope that was enough evidence for you to believe that there is a God and that He is the Creator of all things. This God is not the same God in Islam or any other religion. He is revealed in His Word (The Bible) for everyone to know Him and know about Him.

    2 Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousnes."

    Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

    But now if God exists and the Bible is true then so is the fact that heaven and hell exist. If heaven and hell exist it means that people will be going to either or when they die. This is obvious in the fact that if it weren't so then only one would exist. The Bible tells us that hell is reserved for Satan and his followers.

    So how do you know where you will go when you die? Do you think you are good enough to go to heaven? Do you think you've kept the 10 Commandments? Well let's do a test to find out if you are a good person...

    1. Have you ever told a lie? If you have told even one lie that would make you a liar. (How many murders does one have to commit in order to be called a murderer? In the same way, by telling one lie, you are a liar).

    2. Have you ever stolen anything? Even if it was something small or when you were very young? Time does not change anything. If you have stolen one thing in your entire life you would be a thief.

    3. This one is tricky. The Bible says that if you look upon a woman to lust after her you have already committed adultery with her in your heart. Have you ever done that?

    If you are human, you probably answered yes to all three of those questions. That would make you, by your own admission, a lying thief and an adulterer at heart. And those are just three of the 10 Commandments. If God judges you by those standards do you think you will be innocent or guilty?

    Even if you think you have only broken one or two of the commandments or none at all, look at these verses:

    James 2:10 "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it."

    1 John 1:10 "If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives."

    Romans 3:10-12 "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one."

    Do not be deceived. There will be a day when God will judge the world in righteousness. Those who are righteous will inherit eternal life the rest will have eternal damnation in hell.

    The Bible says:

    Ezekiel 18:4 "The soul that sins, it shall die."

    What is sin? John 3:4 "Sin is transgression of the law."

    The law is the 10 Commandments. The standards by which God will judge us by.

    1 Corinthians 6:9,10 "Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

    Hell is not a pleasant place, it is descibed using words such as "everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord" (2 Thes 1:9); "everlasting contempt" (Daniel 12:2); "raging fire" (Heb 10:27); "weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 24:51); "eternal fire" (Matthew 25:41); "eternal punishment" (Matthew 25:46).

    There are many other references to hell and judgment day. Is it worth taking a chance? When you die you won't have a chance to change your mind or belief. You will have to live with the regret of your decision for eternity. Do you have any idea how long eternity is? If you are spiritually lost and are trying to find truth then you owe it to yourself to investigate Christianity the most because it is the only religion with an eternal consequence for not believing or following it's ways.

    The Bible tells us that we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) and that there is no one righteous (Romans 3:10-12). Then how will anyone make it to heaven? It's quite simple, Jesus Christ! He came from heaven and committed no sin (1 Peter 2:22), then he took the sin of the world (for you and me) and laid it upon himself and took our punishment on the cross. We should die in our sins, and we will if we do not accept Jesus Christ. Jesus died for us, so that we don't have to go to hell. It's as simple as that. If you repent (turn from your sins) and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ you will be saved. You will pass from death to life! He gave you a gift, all you have to do is believe it, accept it and prove that you do by turning from your sins. Read your Bible daily and get into fellowship with other believers to help you grow strong in the faith.

    Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

    There is no other way, not through any other religion or religious leader, not through doing good, and not through your own works. Jesus Christ is the ONLY way. And this is the truth!

    Personally I'm offended by your comments. Your reply seemed more like a scare tactic than anything else. I don't want to feel as if I am choosing Christianity to save my own skin. If God is as you say he is, then I have no desire to worship him at all. It's this fire and brimstone attitudes focusing on hell that make people think you guys are nuts.

    If he is an understanding and loving God, he won't punish me for not believing in him. Threatening me with hell won't make me worship him any faster.

    Realize that good works cannot save you. No religion or church can save you from Hell, only Jesus.

    Romans 3:20
    "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin." KJV

    God has provided a way for you to escape Hell.

    8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
    9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." KJV

    If you want to be saved, you need to put your trust in Jesus Christ alone and believe what He did and who He is. He isn't going to force you, it is your choice.

    Romans 10:9
    "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." KJV

    Did you come here for truth, if you did then we're going to give you the whole truth. If you die without accepting Jesus Christ you will have no more chances to believe in Him.

    "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" KJV

    You're probably thinking, "so much about that loving God". Well, God cannot let sin into Heaven because He is a just God. He don't want you to go to Hell. If you go to Hell, it is because you didn't accept Jesus Christ. Please just meditate on these verses with an open mind.

    2 Peter 3:9
    "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." KJV

    Why did God make a Hell? For the devil and his angels, not you.

    Matthew 25:41
    "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:" KJV

    So, here it is, the invitation. I don't know if God is dealing with your heart, but if He is I pray you humble your heart and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour.

    You'll be in a place where there is no hope, only Eternal Burning. You wanted the truth and I love you enough in Christ to give it to you. I'm not going to tell you a bunch of emotional things to make you feel better about yourself and say you're life will be absolutely perfect, if you become a Christian, but I'll tell you one thing.

    If you accept Jesus Christ into your life. God has promised you eternal life. Eternal happiness...

    Revelation 21:4
    "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." KJV

    Man, I don't know about you, but that is something I want. No more death, we won't have to see anymore people die. No more sorrow, pain or crying. God loves you and you can receive forgiveness, if you humble your heart and believe. He will make you a new person and your sins will be forgiven.

    I am reading a book by a noted Christian apologist from England named N.T. Wright entitled Simply Christian. In this book, Bishop Wright makes a case for Christianity for people like yourself who are unfamiliar with it. The book is 240 pages and is published by HarperOne (A division of Harper-Collins).Other Christian apologists whose writings you might check out could include Josh McDowell and Lee Strobel.

    I do not mean to pass the buck on this issue. However, I believe that just as it is vital to seek the services of a skilled mechanic in the repair and maintenance of an automobile, it is also vital to seek out qualified apologists for the best answers to your important questions regarding Christianity.

  11. Evo-Pride, I could have told you exactly what you wanted to hear and you probably would have given this Christianity thing a try, but it would be false hope and I would have done you wrong. God doesn't want us to just give him a try, he wants us to come to him with a repentent heart (because we are all sinners) and accept the gift he gave us, to believe on the One He sent and to worship him in Spirit and in Truth. When you come to Christ, there is also persecution, trials and tribulation. The difference is if you accepted Him for the right reasons (to flee the coming wrath) then you will be able to cope with the persecution, perhaps not even notice it but if came to Him for a better lifestyle then not only won't you be able to cope with the persecution, trials and tribulation, but you would give up on Christianity all together, turn from Jesus and will be back at square one - spiritually lost and at risk of eternal punishment.

    What I told you is the FULL gospel, not only the good ending like most people will tell you. Maybe it comes across a bit offensive because it is text and not a verbal conversation. No offense was intended, a genuine concern for soul is what I have and everything was said out of love for you. You see the 10 Commandments is impossible to keep because we are not perfect. God knows that. That is why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to take our punishment so that we don't have to go to hell. Would you give your life for your best friend? I'm sure you would do your best to save their life. But would you give your life for an enemy? Well Jesus gave His life for everyone, the whole world, his friends and enemies, good and bad alike. Then he left the choice up to us. Will we choose to believe Him and follow Him or will we continue to sin and follow our own ways? In the end we are the ones who decide where we will spend eternity, not God.

    God is not unjust, infact the reason he punishes sinners makes Him just. Look at this analogy:

    Let's look at the civil law. Pretend you are in the court of law about to be judged for a serious crime that you've commited. All the evidence is against you, you know you are guilty because you know it was against the law and there is no way proving otherwise. Before the judge passes sentence on you he asks you if you have a last words. You say "Yes your honour, I believe you are a good judge, a just judge and therefore I believe you will not send me to prison. I am a good person and there are a lot of worse people out there than me. Please do not send me to prison." The judge will probably say something like this: "You right about one thing, I am a good judge and because of my goodness I have to send you to prison. You broke the law and it is my duty to keep you off the streets and punish you for what you have done."

    You see, the fact that God punishes sinners does not make him unjust. He would be a corrupt God if he didn't punish murderers, rapists, thieves. But He won't stop there, He will also punish adulterers, fornicators, liars etc. If He is just, then by nature He must punish sinners! He will not judge us by comparing us to other people, he will judge us according to His standards - the 10 Commandments.

    Let's go back to the court of law. The judge is busy passing sentence on you. You have been sentenced to 10 years in prison or $1 million bail. You know you don't have the money for the bail and are about to be taken away when some stranger steps in and says He has paid your bail for you. The judge can no longer put you in prison because justice has been done, your fine has been paid for you breaking the law. What would your attitude to this stranger be? One of heartfelt gratitutde, I am sure.

    In the same way, Christ paid our fine so we don't have to go to hell. So either you can continue in your ways and face God on judgment day or you can choose to be grateful for what He has done for you, repent and follow Him and have eternal life.

    Romans 8:8 "Those controlled by sinful nature cannot please God."

    John 8:23,24 "You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. I told you that you would die in your sins, if you do not believe that I am the One I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins."

    John 8:24 "I said therefore to you, that you shall die in your sins: for if you believe not that I am he, you shall die in your sins."

    Jesus is the only way. The choice is yours. Your anger against God will not save you from hell on judgment day nor will your goodness. This life here on earth is short compared to eternity.

    My friend, I hope you will look into everything I've said and that the Holy Spirit will come upon you and reveal the truth to you. You have many chances here on earth but once you die (and that could be at any time) then your chances are finished. You don't have much time to delay. If you just looking for peace and happiness while you live out your short lived life then by all means go get your false sense of peace through buddasim or another religion, but if you are concerned not just about this life, but the life hereafter then you owe it to yourself to investigate Christianity. All I did was tell you the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The choice in the end is yours.

First I don't think that the comments you are referring to is a scare tactic, you misunderstood for the simple reason the writer should have considered that she was talking to a person that is not saved instead of a person who is saved. What she said does not make sense to you and will seem threatening because you don't understand the spiritual meaning which only the Spirit of God can reveal and since you don't have the Spirit of God in you, you misunderstood.

    I don't really understand what you are seeking in your life. What I can explain so that you don't take offense is that - We are all born with a void in our life's which only God can fill and you will only find what you seek if you accept Jesus into your life. You will be forever seeking if you don't accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour. This is Christian spiritual truth that you may not accept or understand but it is a fact.

    I had this spiritual insight when I first read your post that you are just waiting to reject whatever we will say. If you are sincere about your post on TJ I do request you to not judge but to investigate whatever response you get.
    My God is the only true God, He loves me and helps me whenever I have problems in my life, He leads me, teach me and have been with me always. And even when I was not saved He was keeping me save because He died for me on the cross in order to ensure that I can inherit the Kingdom of Heaven one day.
    This is my God and it will be your decision whether you want to serve Him or not.

    Being a Christian means that we live a full Christian life with the Word of God as our guide. The Word talk about hell and if we confess what the Word of God says and people call us nuts - then I'm nuts - thank God for it.

    Mar 16:15 And he said to them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.
    Mar 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

    1Co 2:14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

    We can only offer you the Word of God and it is your decision to accept it or not.
    Please accept it as such, no one is threatening you, we are only giving you what we received from God and what is truth to us.

    If you receive the responses as threatening please do some self examination because the problem is not with the members on this site.

    If I sound harsh I'm sorry for that but this is the only way to relay the truth if Christianity to you.

    I pray that God will touch your soul and that you will accept Him into your life.

    I hate to burst you bubble my friend, but if you are looking for a God that will let you live only for yourself, without any objections, then you are not really looking for the almighty God. The brothers and sisters and have been very open and honest with you, however you came in with a chip on your shoulder, not really interested in real facts. If you are going to "pick" a religion based on a competition, then you are looking in the wrong places. Islam, Christians and Buddests really have nothing to do with each other, their theology is not even close. If you are looking for real information, not just nonsense, Welcome to TJ, if not good luck on your search. I am a youth pastor and will be glad to assist you in your journey, however come with a real open mind and lets learn together.

  14. Please elaborate how you think I should have worded it better. I did consider the fact that I was talking to an unsaved person, but I'm unsure as to how it seemed to you that I didn't. If I was talking to a saved person, I surely wouldn't be witnessing to them and telling them about things they arlready know. The Holy Spirit is the one who gives spiritual understanding. By giving the full gospel the Holy Spirit can do His work. I just gave the full gospel.
  15. You couldn't word it better you did it right. The person we are talking to here don't have a Bible, he hates Christian music and is clearly just testing the waters of Christianity. He don't understand the word of God because he can't discern.

    You said nothing wrong and I did not mean that you did, just that we are talking in a languish he doesn't understand. Meaning that he must not claim that we are using scare tactics when we are talking about things that he don't understand.

    I did not like the sarcastic quote at the end of his post
    as if you personally insulted him. That was on your first post which he clearly misunderstood due to the scripture that you quoted.

    I assume that I was busy writing when you posted the second time and I only saw your reply when I posted myself. Sorry it was a misunderstanding, I was reacting on the first post you wrote which he perceived as a way of scaring him into choosing Christianity.

  16. I am not upset, don't worry. I was just wanted to clear the air about what I said incase you or someone else misinterpreted me or even if I did say something wrong then I would like to know because if I bore false witness in any way I would obviously take it into consideration the next time I witness. I prayed before and after I posted and felt strongly that my message was Spirit led, so I was just curious as to what you meant, that's all. Thanks for explaining though and not getting upset.

  18. If I may add my 2 cents here (and it may be worth only a penny), loving someone into the Kingdom is often more effective than preaching at a person. Jesus showed us who He is through His love, forgiveness, and healing more than anything else, but his ultimate love was dying on the cross for ALL.

    Only Jesus has the ability to draw you in, Evo. And if we're not loving you and ministering to you, then we're not doing our job. It would be different if you were breaking the rules at this forum, but I do not see in any way how you have broken the rules. You were merely expressing your thoughts and opinions and experiences. You also showed an openness to learning about Christianity, and I think that is good. Please don't let harshness chase you away. I assure you, Jesus wasn't harsh. The harshest he ever got was with the Pharisees (those who thought they were better than everyone else.) With everyday people, he told parables, healed and loved.

    Jesus hung with those who others didn't want to hang with. Jesus had no prejudice except for His first love...His love of the Father. His Father came first in His life, but He willingly died for our sins.

    You shouldn't be pushed into a decision, and to do so, I believe would be ineffective. Just watch and learn and read for awhile. I see your curiousity and earnestness and I'm pleased that you're here, no matter what decision you make!

    We try hard here because we care about you and we see that you need a Saviour. For no other reason do we tell you these things.

  19. I disagree with you. You can't love someone into the Kingdom. It is through fear of the Lord that men depart from sin (Proverbs 16:6). If men do not depart from sin (repent) then they will not inherit eternal life. How can they repent of their sins if they do not know what sin is? 1 John 3:4 says that sin is transgression of the law. So we must preach the law so that they will have an understanding of sin. Why? Because Romans 4:15 says the "law works wrath". If they do not tremble before a just and Holy God they will not see the need to repent and will therefore not inherit eternal life.

    Galatians 3:24 "Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith."

    Psalm 19:7 "The Law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul." (I think that verse is pretty straight forward)

    Paul said: "Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said 'do not covet'." Romans 7:7

    Romans 5:20 "Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound."

    Some people will take offense because they are guilty of breaking the commandments, but this is where the Holy Spirit can do His work and offer grace. We cannot save anyone, God does that, we just pass the message on. Don't be one of those modern day Christians who are guilty of leaving out the most important part of the gospel to please man. People don't want to hear about the consequences of their sin because they want to continue in their sin without feeling guilty. But unfortunately it doesn't work like that and if we didn't tell them the whole truth then we would be false witnesses of Christ and God will not be pleased with us either.
