Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.
1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;

for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if you hear his voice,

do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, [1] as you did that day at Massah [2] in the desert,
9
where your fathers tested and tried me, though they had seen what I did.

For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, "They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways."
11
So I declared on oath in my anger, "They shall never enter my rest."
