There are three things serious collectors have in common: they know their subject, they are passionate about it, and they are always on the lookout for new items. What if every believer were a serious collector of "good"?
Goodness is a relative term when applied to people. But compared to God, "there is no one who does good" (Psalm 14:1). Jesus said, "No one is good--except God alone" (Mark 10:18). However, the New Testament is filled with admonitions to do good and be good. What's the balance?
Jesus says a good man has stored up good in his heart. Like a collector. No collector owns it all. But he pursues it, loves it, and wants to bring it out for all to see.
Prayer: Father, You alone are good, and I want to collect as much of Your goodness as I can.
