Cloning...what would God say?

A recent piece in CNN discussed the cloning of cows for consumption of meat and milk. People pushing for this stated that cloning the "better" cattle would be beneficial to the consumer. On a survey only 65% would not buy the cloned product and only less than 70% of americans see cloning having moral issues. By the way the FDA decided companies would not have to label their product as cloned.

It seems that since 1996 when the first mammal was cloned, more and more cloning is taking place with different types of animal for research, commercialism and preservation (in the case of endangered species).

It would seem only a matter of time (if not already) that man too could be/would be cloned?

I wonder how God feels about all this?

well such stuff never really have been part of issues in the bible.. i guess that if a human would be cloned the most important thing is: would he have a soul..? or would he be "dead" (without soul) you know like the homunuclus stuff in middle ages? the make clones of better cattle for food i dun think its a bad thing.. if i am not wrong jacob in genesis when he was working to get his wives well he worked for getting cattle and god gave him the more better cattle if i am not wrong? i dont think its wrong thing to clone animals who supposed to be for eating but humans its another issue.. i dun think there is something about this kind of stuff in the word of God.

My opinion is that it is wrong and we will be paying for this one day. This is in the story of the Garden of Eden.

Genesis 3:4 "And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil"

Man continues this sin to be like God and by cloning animals and soon (if not already) humans is being God.

Only God can create man and the creatures who have life, as shown in the book of Genesis.

look this thing have 2 sides. in one hand you say that by cloning we as humans "playing the God part". but think of this: what if people start cloning origins for people with disease? this would be still wrong? i dunno if cloning is good or bad but i guess its also the way you use it and to what purpse.
look i think that human clone shouldnt occure or be practised.. about animals yet i dont sure. again we dont have a specific verses about cloning though the verse you gave should also be considerd.

i totally agree with what you said!

thank you for the scripture by the way...

j4jh, the devil is a very good deciver, he will not come to us with the opposite of God's word, he will come with something similar to it, but not the same, he twists the truth!

that is why we have to know the Word Very well.

i hope this explains a little this issue. i think men are trying to "minimize" God by doing that, i think God and only God has the right to give life because he is life.

I don't think humans can be cloned. You can clone cows or animals that have no spirit, but I don't think they will ever be able to clone humans period. As someone said, only god can do that :)

Is Jesus not able to heal the sick? If they do not believe in Jesus, they pay the price either way. That is why we are called to reach the lost and teach them about Jesus, preach the Gospels. In Him, there is healing, forgiveness, blessings in every aspect including material, spiritual, physical.

Genesis 1:27
him; male and female he So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created them.

I agree. Why clone and get a man made copy when you can just stick with the original?

Cloning......What would God Say?

The central issue in human cloning seems to me to be: Would these human clones have souls? I think the answer is "no", since they would be products of human genetic engineering, not the system God put in place for procreation. They would be Satanic imitations (see 2 Thess 2:9).
