Churches are not clubs for the righteous. They are clinics for the sick, the wounded and the maimed, where those a bit stronger help those who are still weak.

The forgiven forgive. The healed heal. The comforted comfort others. Those who have been picked up pick others up.

The world is full of the devil and a million temptations. Our role is not to kick people when they are down. They are the devil’s victims and, rather than scorn we should pour on them the oil of understanding and bring healing and recovery.

The Evangelist

Great words.
I think this should be forwarded to every church.

Gossip..is killing some churches....people come with their problems, " pray for me sister "...then we take the prayer request to someone else, in a technical way so it seems like we're asking them to join in prayer, when we're really putting the person's business out there.

Our tongues...some of us should be drinking holy water everyday.

Hezekiah Walker - I need you to survive Lyrics

I need you, you need me.
We're all a part of God's body.
Stand with me, agree with me.
We're all a part of God's body.
It is his will that every need be supplied.
You are important to me, I need you to survive.
You are important to me, I need you to survive.

I need you, you need me.
We're all a part of God's body.
Stand with me, agree with me.
We're all a part of God's body.
It is his will that every need be supplied.
You are important to me, I need you to survive.
You are important to me, I need you to survive.

I pray for you , you pray for me.
I love you, I need you to survive.
I won't harm you with words from my mouth.
I love you, I need you to survive.
(Repeat 6x)

Club vs community

Well Said, Brothah Stephen!
If you go to worship with a "gonna' hang out" and "network" and "socialize"...YOU ARE NOT GOING TO WORSHIP!!

When we come together in a congregation we are acknowledging that we are part of a family that has the unique quality of being of the same Body. Bloodwashed for holiness with open access to God, our Father.

There is NOTHING "club"about worshipping Him and being able to use the gifts and offices assigned to us via the Holy Spirit. Come expecting to actively participate in expressing gratitude your salvation and adoration for the One who GRACIOUSLY gave it to you.

Don't cheapen what it means by thinking that it's just ANOTHER place to connect with your friends without having to leave a tip for a waitress.

Family...Family, before we were converted and we did the club, social networking thing, weren't we screaming in our hearts "THERE'S GOTTA' BE SOMETHING MORE THAN THIS!"
That one of the perks of being born-again. We are part of a global family that the world has nothing like. A loving, eternal, Christ-centered, beautiful,...family!

Let's be grateful that we are more than a social club. We are family. We are the Body of Christ. No matter where we congregate or fellowship, there still has to be activities that scream..."DIFFERENT FROM THE WORLD!" amen?
