Grace and Peace to my fellow Brothas and Sistas who except Jesus as Savior and King for without him we all know that we wouldnt be free from the chains of sin but because God loves us he gave up his only begotten son 4 us as Christians to not only be forgiven but to be accepted as children of God Family but to bring the topic to life i just wanted to get everyone point of view of this if we are the body of christ and he is the head of every believer(1 Corinthians ch.12 verse 12-13 ) shouldnt we then be called the church of christ? now some will say why does it matter what the church is called as long as we accept christ as king then we are truly saved

but even the apostle Paul claims in Romans chapter 16 Verse 16 that we should greet one another with a holy kiss. all the "Churches Of Christ" send greetings and like i said before since Christ is the head of all believers we are to recongnize him as lord in savior in everything we do he even told Peter(One of the 12 for those who do not know him) Confessed that on this rock i will build "my church"... (Matt ch.16 verse 18)

Since christ called it his church shouldnt we be giving him all the glory instead of name are buildings where we worship Baptize and Lutherun Catholic Protestant and etc... now im 18 yrs old and became baptize in 2005 so im still an infant in christ and do not think that ima denominational member tryin to recruit members for i am only a Christian nothing more and nothing least im just tryin to bring union with the one and only church and show people that we all old and young should not consider ourseleves better than one another as Paul says to the church of corinth in 1 Corinthians ch.1 verse 26-31 about boasting and thinking that we should boast proudly cause of the wisdom we have but it is all God that we should consider to boast about for without him what are we worth?

Fellow Brothers and Sisters im just tryin to do my job for even in 1 John ch.4 verse 1-3 say we should test the Spirits to see if its from God or of the antichrist. But please brothers and sisters send some responses and views on this topic it would be very helpful for me and others.

So above all things  God and  one another peace be unto you

Thank you Roe for the above post.

From the thread, what i've understood is why are there many denominations yet we are the body and christ the Head, is that so? We had a simillar thread weeks ago on denominations dont know if its still there you need to search for it and that can answer your question.

As for my own opinion, it doesnt matter where i worship or which church does this and that BUT, as long as they follow wholly what the bible teaches then thats the right place for me. Secondly, ask the Holy spirit to guide and teach you on what is for God and not. That is His work, to guide you in ALL truth and with that my brother you can never go wrong. Religion or churches will not get us to heaven but only Christ, He's the way, the truth and the life, no one cometh to the Father except through Him. Just concentrate on your relationship with God.

Read on your thread that you got saved and baptised in 2005,so you called yourself an infact in the things of God....Let me encourage you that The time doesnt matter but your relationship with Him. What do i mean? I've seen people who have been saved for almost 10 years yet their walk in God seems like a person who got saved yesterday. There are others who have been in salvation for less than an year and God has lifted them mightly, why? Because they take God serious, they spend lots of time in His presence. Thats where the difference is....so dont call your self an infant coz you've been saved for almost 3 years. Its yours relationship with Him that matters.

God bless and increase you in the knowledge of Him, Keep that fire bro!!!:thumbs_up

Welcome Roe.

I agree.

Christianity is a relationship NOT a religion & relationships can't have different denominations.

Also Christ, our head, is not nor ever been a/an:
Baptist, Episcopil, Lutheran, Methodist, et cetera.

So what makes us think we Christians should be anything more than simply Christian?

The message Bible sums it up nicely brother:

Romans 12 The Message Bible

Place Your Life Before God

1-2 So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. 3I'm speaking to you out of deep gratitude for all that God has given me, and especially as I have responsibilities in relation to you. Living then, as every one of you does, in pure grace, it's important that you not misinterpret yourselves as people who are bringing this goodness to God. No, God brings it all to you. The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what he does for us, not by what we are and what we do for him.
4-6In this way we are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we're talking about is Christ's body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body. But as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we wouldn't amount to much, would we? So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ's body, let's just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren't.
6-8If you preach, just preach God's Message, nothing else; if you help, just help, don't take over; if you teach, stick to your teaching; if you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don't get bossy; if you're put in charge, don't manipulate; if you're called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond; if you work with the disadvantaged, don't let yourself get irritated with them or depressed by them. Keep a smile on your face.
9-10Love from the center of who you are; don't fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle.
11-13Don't burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don't quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.
14-16Bless your enemies; no cursing under your breath. Laugh with your happy friends when they're happy; share tears when they're down. Get along with each other; don't be stuck-up. Make friends with nobodies; don't be the great somebody.
17-19Don't hit back; discover beauty in everyone. If you've got it in you, get along with everybody. Don't insist on getting even; that's not for you to do. "I'll do the judging," says God. "I'll take care of it."
20-21Our Scriptures tell us that if you see your enemy hungry, go buy that person lunch, or if he's thirsty, get him a drink. Your generosity will surprise him with goodness. Don't let evil get the best of you; get the best of evil by doing good.
