The Christian life contains what I like to call “The Magoo Factor,” which is a 60’s cartoon comedy about the antics of an elderly gentleman with near-blind eyesight. Regardless of his actions he always ended up where he was supposed to be, and that unharmed.

It is true concerning believers in Christ, that we are always where the Father wants us so that He can continually progress our “being conformed” (not conforming but being conformed – Rom 8:29), for there is no thought, felling, word or action that can be performed without the foreknowledge of the Father which He has not already preordained (everything God knows is from everlasting, to everlasting) in order to “work together for good to them that love Him” (Rom 8:28).

There is no necessity for guilt feelings since we are without guilt. We can know that God knows that our sole desire in all we do (good/bad) is to please Him, which is the result of Him continually "working" this in us (Phil 2:13).

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand” (Psa 37:23, 24). “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths (Pro 3:6).

Great Thread!
How do you fall away with such a promise and he said he would never leave or abandon you?
Colossians 1:26-27 26 the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which[a] is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Hi RJ - Good follow-up passage! Many who are born-again are still in the process of understanding the implications concerning eternal security. Until it is learned that one who is born-again is forever secure concerning being placed in Christ there will be much to learn about spiritual growth.

One can be reborn but still be in the learning process concerning the inalterability of regeneration, which will require time to understand, along with many other doctrines, because the doctrine of eternal security is the basis for all spiritual growth doctrines.

One good example is, "Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God" (1 Jo 3:9). Here, the obvious support of the doctrine of eternal security is, "His (Christ's) seed remains in him." This designs the clear intention that Christ's "seed remains," which is the new nature created "after the image of Him" (Col 3:10; Eph 4:24), which is how we by the Spirit (Eph 3:16) are now "partakers of the (Christ's) divine nature" (2 Pet 1:4), all of which is unalterable (Rom 11:29). If it is obvious that one who professes faith in Christ and is eventually living in sin, they are disqualified from having ever possessed His "seed," because it "remains."

Isa.35
[8] And a highway and a way shall be there
and it shall be called The way of holiness; (faith, love and good deeds)
the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those
the wayfaring (CHRISTIAN) men,
though fools, shall not err therein.

[9] No lion (natured) shall be there
nor any ravenous 9natured) beast shall go UP there.
It (they) shall not be found there;
but the redeemed (by GOD, through Jesus) shall walk there:
