Kevan Chandler has good friends and a love of adventure. So when he was offered the opportunity to backpack across Europe, he was all in. But Kevan chandler didn’t carry a backpack…he rode in it.
Chandler has spinal muscular atrophy and would normally be confined to a wheelchair. Since Kevan’s wheelchair would only get in the way during the trek, his friends carried him in a specially designed backpack.
Their adventure, documented in the book We carry Kevan, has redefined what accessible travel looks like and shined a spotlight on the strength of friendship in the face of adversity.
The love that moved Kevan’s friends to carry him across the world is the kind of love that literally bears all things. The love we Christians have for one another should be no less.
True love believes the best about people and hopes that the Lord will work in their lives.
God calls His people to work toward greater unity, regardless of our differences, even when that means that we must carry one another along.
Prayer: Lord, give me love for others that believes the best about them and works to help them toward it. You have done no less for me. Help me carry others even as You carry me.
