Caring Your Own Cross..

[Revelation 22:7]

Hi i require some enlightenment on a topic..,,there is a verse in the bible i have just forgotten the location but it reads if any does not hate the father ,mother,sisters, cousin e.t.c then he cant be my deciple... now the hating part is wat i do not understand....??

26 If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters,
yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple. 27 Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot
be My disciple.

now the hating part is wat i do not understand....??

the word hate in the bible dosent always mean hate in the sence of "man i hate that guy"


25 Now great multitudes went with Him. its basicly saying to put God first before everything, a house, your own family, anything.

I am a die hard king james version fan. not just due to the poetic flow but also because i have looked into it and in other popular versions there have been many many ommisions, and when i looked futher the things omitted had highly significant spiritual meaning. But God can still speak to you from some of the versions with things omitted. I recommend getting your hands on a king james version with plenty of notes where it gives an alternative word for the unknown word if you plan to stick with king james. if the king james gives you problems still get another version bible which you understand better. personally i have the spirit filled life king james bible. it has some of the best cross refrences and foot notes and word wealths and history and culture insights and just on and on i have ever seen.

Christ doesnt want us to hate any body especialy our own kin , but the verse gives us a standard to go by ,,We must be ready to leave all for Christ and love none more than the relationship we have with Christ ..my last wife was in a wrong place in my heart ,a place reserved for Christ alone so when she left it crushed me , my eyes were focused on her as my most important relationship in life and i stepped out of the pulpit and almost quit the ministry over it ! thats why we must give that deep love to Christ alone for what he has done for us..and hold no other in higher esteem than God almighty ..He will never leave us nor forsake us .who else can you trust that much ..our love for God should be compared to no other love ...
