Baptist
Baptist Doctrine believe very similar to the Catholic Church, with some differences...
There are different branches of Baptist that differ... Some hold to a form of election Doctrine.
Scriptures:
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. (Some take a KJV stance Only)
One True God:
The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.
(Jesus is God) three in one doctrine.
God the son (Jesus)
Jesus came to set men free, and there is no other way to be saved but through Jesus.
Holy Spirit:
Holy Spirit is God's Spirit. Convicts world of sin. Bestows spiritual gifts for the work of the ministry. (Lots of Baptist though do not believe in tongues, but some do practice anointing with oil so that someone could be healed)
The Lords Day: Sabbath
Lots of Baptist believe in setting aside one day of the week to worship and observe God..
Election:
Some believe in a type of Election Doctrine.
Different than Catholics: Major differences.....
Baptist believe there is only one mediator between God and man... They do not ask the dead for help (Saints, Jesus Momma) as that is considered a type of necromancy, or Idol worship.
1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator (Not many Mediators) between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Baptist do not fight vampires, and hence, no holy water..
Baptist believe the Bible 66 books is the word of God, and no other Work is canonical. What others have written has no authority, but the Word of God.
Baptist Dunk people under water to baptize, not sprinkle with water, Hence the Greek name Baptist (Which means to Dunk)
There are many different types of Creeds and doctrine types of Different Baptist Groups. I gave the basic in which most of them Believe.
Oh... and Baptist believe that Marriage is between a man and women... and have not taken votes to allow gay marriage... Presbyterian, Methodist, Lutheran all have been confused and have taken votes to allow gay marriage, and gay clergy...
BTW...... I am not Baptist... but aside from the Election part, and the Gifts of the Spirit such as tongues I believe mostly like they do.
Jesus Is Lord.
