There’s a call for the global church to a 3-Day Esther Fast against the coronavirus outbreak next week from Lou Engle.

Dear Friends,

A team of us have been fasting intensely in New England. We have been inquiring desperately of the Lord concerning the Coronavirus. For the past several days, we’ve been asking the Lord, “Shall we call a three-day Esther Fast worldwide to resist this virus?” As we contemplated calling this fast, a great evangelist from Europe, Jean-Luc Trachsel, texted me and said, "Lou, don't miss this moment. Call a three-day fast across the world and shatter this Coronavirus!" As we prepared to write this call to action, Andy Byrd, one of the leaders of The Send, texted me and said, "Lou, would you call a three-day fast in the midst of this 40-day fast and call the Church to stand against and rebuke this Coronavirus? It is threatening the global advance of evangelism and missions and is determined to stop stadium Christianity. The Send Argentina must not be stopped! The Send Kansas City must not be stopped! Other great gatherings must not be stopped!" At that moment, with two or three other witnesses, I knew it was the word of the Lord.

To take a stand against the destructive spread of the Coronavirus, we are calling the global Church to a three-day Esther Fast, March 18th - March 20th, to humble ourselves, confess our sins and the sins of our nation (Joel 2), and cry out to God for mercy. Then, on the third day, as when Esther went before the king, let us gather together in small or large groups and stand as the Ekklesia before the King of Glory! Let us stretch out His rod of authority out of Zion and rebuke the Coronavirus in united corporate agreement, believing in faith that the storm will abate, stadiums will be filled, and 2020 will go down as the year of the historic advance of evangelism and missions worldwide. Would you join us for this three-day Esther Fast, March 18th - March 20th?!

Is that the best they can do? It seems they are more concerned about the cancellation of their events than they are about the prospect of hospitals being overwhelmed by the sick and dying or of the millions who are living in isolation and fear right now.

I worry about how hopelessly out of touch many prominent Christian leaders appear to be.

I sometimes wonder about your faith, questioning the importance of spiritual things, seeing modern concerns and the flesh as more important than the spirit.

Remember, how are we commanded to fast as followers of Christ?
You do it in secret.

(Matthew 6).
16Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen of men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have received their reward. 17But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thy head, and wash thy face; 18that thou be not seen of men to fast, but of thy Father who is in secret: and thy Father, who seeth in secret, shall recompense thee.

Remember: we live under a “new covenant “. Not the old contract . No one is suppose to know if you are fasting. It is a reason for that. It is about “works of“obedience”, remember we don’t cherry pick, even if it seems noble or Godly. Remember the “Ark” of the Covenant “. When the Ox stumble? May will grow in the little things that we will grow in more obedience.
