For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 2 Peter 1:5-7 ESV

Houses are built from the foundation up. Once the foundation is solid, then the walls can be framed with studs. After the wall’s studs are in, plywood gets added to the outside, then house wrap, then siding. Inside the house, insulation is put in, then drywall, which gets sealed and then painted.

It starts with a strong foundation, but for people inside the house to be protected from storms, they need to keep building onto that foundation.

Christ has laid the perfect foundation for the Christian life. Building your faith on any other foundation won’t work. But if you stop building after the foundation, the storms of this life will be more dangerous and uncomfortable. For your faith to protect you well, keep building.

Live a virtuous life. Grow in knowledge. Control your desires. Be steadfast, godly, and kind. Above all else, paint your life with love so others will see it and want to visit.

Prayer: Lord, You are the Master Builder. Help me use the tools You have given me to build a secure faith that is inviting to others. Don’t let me settle for a strong foundation when You want more for me.

Yes the foundation=obeying Jesus-- And to go along with your post James teaches--Faith without works is dead. Meaning if one doesnt have works, when adversarial things come upon one-Their faith will crumble in the most time of need. One must keep moving forward as you have
shown so one doesnt get stagnate.
Nice post.
