Everything we have, comes from God. There is nothing we can give God that He doesn't already have...

..or is there? Did you know that you can bless God?

Over a dozen times in Psalms alone, we are told David blessed God, and we are supposed to bless God.

Psa 16:7; I will bless the LORD who has counseled me; Indeed, my mind instructs me in the night.
Psa 26:12; My foot stands on a level place; In the congregations I shall bless the LORD.
Psa 34:1; A Psalm of David when he feigned madness before Abimelech, who drove him away and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Psa 103:1; A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
Psa 103:2; Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits;
Psa 103:20; Bless the LORD, you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His word, Obeying the voice of His word!
Psa 103:21; Bless the LORD, all you His hosts, You who serve Him, doing His will.
Psa 103:22; Bless the LORD, all you works of His, In all places of His dominion; Bless the LORD, O my soul!
Psa 104:1; Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty,
Psa 104:35; Let sinners be consumed from the earth And let the wicked be no more. Bless the LORD, O my soul. Praise the LORD!
Psa 115:18; But as for us, we will bless the LORD From this time forth and forever. Praise the LORD!
Psa 134:1; A Song of Ascents. Behold, bless the LORD, all servants of the LORD, Who serve by night in the house of the LORD!
Psa 134:2; Lift up your hands to the sanctuary And bless the LORD.
Psa 135:19; O house of Israel, bless the LORD; O house of Aaron, ; bless the Lord.
Psa 135:20; O house of Levi, bless the LORD; You who revere the LORD, bless the Lord.

There are a few other scriptures as well, but you get the idea. A while back, I had to get up in the middle of the night and pick someone up from the airport
at 2:00am in the morning. It's about a 50 minute drive for me, one way. On the way home this person thanked me a few times and even offered to buy my gas.
But I told him it was OK, I just enjoyed their company. A few days later they took me out to lunch and told me what a blessing it was that I picked them up.
I was blessed by prayers and a free lunch. I didn't do it for the lunch, I didn't even know they were going to buy me lunch, but I was still blessed.

It seems we can bless God, we can exalt Him, praise Him, worship Him, give thanks to Him. More than that, we can obey Him and trust Him.
When we do these things, He blesses us. Psalms 103:20-21; says we bless the Lord by obeying Him.

It's the same way with Love. Giving love to someone is a voluntary thing. We've all had people in our life that we didn't "love" at some point.
After we are saved, we have a supernatural ability to love and forgive, but it seems that some people don't love God even after they are saved.
How can this be? I have even been told that loving God isn't a requirement. Hmmm.. but even if it wasn't. Why would you not want to?
We can voluntarily give God (and other people) our love. Love is a choice. We can bless God (and other people) Blessings are a choice.

What are you doing to bless God today?

Blessing God is something relatively new to me, my current church is the first time I remember actually hearing a preacher say it. I never thought we could do that, and when I heard it I immediately went home and looked it up in the bible, and there it was, as you say, Ray,, David blessed God all the time.

This is a good reminder for all of us.
