Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit

Unbelief, and blaspheming the Holy Spirit would be considered the same thing. A unbeliever is a person who knows the truth, but has decided not to believe in what he knows to be true. "Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil" Speaking against the Holy Spirit is evil to a person who knows it is God working, but calls it evil.

John 12:42 Many people did believe in Him, however, including some of the Jewish leaders. But they wouldn't admit it for fear that the Pharisees would expel them from the synagogue.
John 12:43 For they loved human praise more than the praise of God.

The Jewish leaders were the Pharisees , and the scribes who claimed Jesus to be casting out devil by a devil.!!! The knew better but it did not stop them. That is unbelief!!

ALthough...Paul was a pharisee and he was forgiven when he did things out of ignorance and unbelief, becAuse he repented, so...I dont think unbelief cannot be repented of...

I think he did say he was blaspheming or used to. But then he did say it was out of ignorance. Maybe the diiference is..if its intentional.

He did say he thought he was doing God a favour by being a pharisee. I dont know..can someone shed some light? Otherwise how could Paul have been saved if he had blasphemed the holy spirit,,he must have only blAsphemed Jesus.

  • All Christians where once unbelievers. Including Paul, we all have our own story of salvation but it is comprised of, in some form "Seeing The light" or, Once being blind but,now see".
  • What ever each of our stories where...out of ignorance / sheer indifference -or- blatant disregard, we answered God's call, repented and received His free gift of salvation only by his grace.
  • We went from unbelief to believing!
I think he did say he was blaspheming or used to. But then he did say it was out of ignorance. Maybe the difference is..if its intentional.
  • If intentional or not, if you die your physical death with out truly receiving Chris in you, you have "Blasphemed the Holy Spirit!"
  • In the end, God will do some separation....His process will be if one has Jesus in them or not. Those who do, will go to heaven and those who don't will go to hell!
  • He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. Matthew 25:33

He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. Matthew 25:33

What makes someone a sheep or a goat?

Matt 25:34; “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
Matt 25:35; For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;
Matt 25:36; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’

.. or else ...

Matt 25:41; “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;
Matt 25:42; for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink;
Matt 25:43; I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’

??? I said it here:

Sorry but I am astonished Brother, that you have to ask!
  • If you are saved, you have Jesus in you ( Born Again) or your second birth, your "Spiritual Birth" ....your a sheep!
  • if your are NOT saved, you do NOT have Jesus in you ( you are NOT "Born Again") you HAVEN'T had your second birth ( NOT born Spiritually)...your a goat.
Throughout the scriptures God, references his coming kingdom and he constantly talks to us about his process separating those who go to heaven and those who do not....Separating:
  • Wheat from Tares
  • Wheat from Weeds
  • Wheat from Chaff
  • Sheep from Goats

And yet.. it doesn't say that anywhere in Matthew 25. That isn't what makes you a sheep or a goat.

Yes, your problem is that you you don'y believe anything in the Bible unless you read it exactly. You can't confine yourself to one book in the Bible but, it must be, the whole word of God. To fully understand you should change your mindset to the audience that the Holy Scriptures was written.
For example, the Jew of the day had a understanding of Wheat and Tares, Wheat and Chaff and Sheep and Goats that you would not, Goats had a different connotation to the Jew than did a Sheept!......It is the " Lamb of God", not the Kid of God!

In the OLD Testament and during the "Day of Atonement"....it was a Goat and not a Sheep that the ceremonial sins where heap on and then sent out in to the dessert!

People arent born already sheep or goats jesus observes peoples behaviour to tell if they are like sheep or goats as said in his parable. I dont think you can blanket people into child of God and child of satan right from natural birth. Remember peope need to be born AGAIN.

Nobody can condemn people before their time even Jesus is not willing for anyone to perish. Maybe there are some people who you think wont ever be saved well God is very patient and merciful probably more so than us humans.

And yet he chose us before we were born.
.
Ephesians 1:4
even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love

Does that mean he did not choose everyone??

Eph 1:4 For he chose us in him.
Does that mean he did not choose everyone??
No . Mankind was chosen to be in Him through Jesus. 'Us = mankind'.

We have to always remember that just because God can be evil (partial in this instance) does not mean He is. Rom 9 (God can do anything and whatever He wants to, who are we to stop Him) needs to always be accompanied with the rest of scripture (what in fact He decides to do).

These two verses need to be added to our understanding of God's omniscience:
1 John 1:5 There is no darkness in Him at all.
Psalm 136:1 Give thanks because God is good.

Titus 2:11
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.

Does that mean he did not choose everyone??

You know, who really knows! God is sovereign and can pretty much do what he wants. Saying that, I lie to think this way about predestination and election and, mainly because of God's abundant Grace:
  • God is the Alpha and Omega, he can be anywhere, at anytime he chooses, he invented "space-time continuum's".
  • Somehow, He knew /knows all who would / will choose him before the creation and predestined them to be the elect.
  • In our human time, he saw and predestined us before we even existed.
  • "Who ever calls the name of the Lord, will be saved" Romans 10:13
  • This grace is available for all but only a few will choose!

God chose all those whom he knew would chose him before the foundation of the world.

God created mankind right? Humans are made on his image, which means we are his creation.
Remember when God wanted his own he chose a people to be holy amd set apart and that was the israelites deacended from abraham. THEY Were actually chosen through no special reason of their own...they were the least of peoples. He gave abaraham a promise his descendants would be as mAny as sands on the sea shore and right down through Jesus, even gentiles could be adopted into his family IF they had faith.

We believers through Jesus are now Gods people. The convenant was renewed. When the bible talks about being chosen its talking about Jesus and specifically Through judah and israels line they were a chosen people. Who has now extended to gentiles BY FAITH.

Nobody is born a believer...believers are BORN AGAIN. Ye must be born again. Have faith.

There is absolutely no reason to believe God made some people wicked and iredeemable and some people perfect and holy. We do know God gave us free will to choose to go his way or not. This goes right back to Adam and Eve. A weakness in Gods design? I dont think so. His plan of salvation through jesus is predestined because all the prophets spoke of Him..

Yet the bible says,

Romans 9:21
21 Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?

Exodus 9:12
But the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had spoken to Moses.

If you read the bible and stop picking And choosing verses you will see the potter can make new vessels from that same bit of clay.

Also He can give people new hearts. Was not Pharoahs heart broken when his firstborn son died?
