"Preach the Word" 2 Timothy 4:2

When preaching is truly Biblical it will acomplish four things.

1 It will inform the mind - and that means that the hearer must be ready to do some thinking: not lazily absorbing that which does not need to be thought through, and leaving the rest.
2 It will condition the conscience 3 It will move the will. 4 It will inflame the heart.

In the Interpreters house Christian saw the picture of a man hanging upon the wall 'and this was the fashion of it. It had eyes lifted up to heaven, the best of books in his hand, the law of truth written upon his lips and the world was behind his back; it stood as if it pleaded with men, and a crown of gold did hang over his head' "Timothy, preach the Word"

Preaching is at a discount today. There are many who don't want it. There are many who think it is not the way in this day and age. There are many who prefer other methods, some of which are very good but cannot take its place.

Preaching is a divine ordinance: it belongs with the church of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is part of Gods equipment for that church. It is of God, for his people. Some men don't believe in preaching; they are out of step with the New Testament.

Reader, is God is calling you to the sacred office of preaching? Don't be put off by those who say it is out of date. It will live on when many modern techniques have slipped away, and had their day in history....Preach the Word......"it is the power of God unto Salvation to everyone who believeth"

Act 28:23 From morning until evening Paul continued to explain the kingdom of God to them, trying to convince them about Jesus from the [Scripture]

(the problem with many of a preacher today, is he has himself believed satans lie 'God hath not surely said' ...and so replaces Gods word with his own enticing words which dont have enough flint to prick a mans conscience, let alone set his heart burning with the need to turn to the true God)

Some of them were convinced by what he said, but others wouldn't believe. They disagreed with one another as they were leaving, and Paul added a statement:

"How well did the Holy Spirit speak to your ancestors through the prophet Isaiah!

The Holy Spirit said, 'Go to this people and say',

"You will listen and listen but never understand, and you will look and look but never see! For this people's heart has become dull, and their ears are hard of hearing, and they have shut their eyes so that they may never see with their eyes, and listen with their ears, and understand with their heart and turn and let me heal them. You must understand that this salvation of God has been sent to the gentiles, and they will listen."

When he had said these words, the Jews left, arguing intensely among themselves...[but] ...Paul continued to preach the kingdom of God and to teach about the Lord Jesus Christ with perfect boldness...

Luke 6:39 And Jesus spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch? The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
