Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Thanks to Chad's kind permission on 9-9-05 at 11:11 am, I am happy to share with you something that helped me tremendously and from some of the posts I've seen in many of the forums, could be of help to others as well.

www.settingcaptivesfree.com

The website that is for the purpose of breaking sinful patterns in our life

I John 1:6-7 "If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."

If you are tired of falling and giving in to online porn, chat romances that lead to sin or that are with someone other than your spouse (if married), have troubles with addiction to food or other things that are 'walking in darkness' and take us further from a close walk with Jesus, try this website!

They offer accountability as well (Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. Confess your sins one to another.) via a mentor who will answer Bible study questions and give Biblical help in dealing with issues you may have during the course of the study.

Enjoy!

Thank you food was mine also.

I gave it a go I am halfway through the course.

What I found out was that I didnt fast at all until I started this course.

Im not overweight many people say I am underweight. Just after a meal I tend to eat snacks chocolate etc. until I get a false feeling of satisfaction.

Fasting has learnt me so much about all other areas in my life. Least of all about food.

I now feel I have a lot more understanding in this subject.

Thank you again.

Thank you for sharing this with us. I hope many will depend on (faithfully) in the authority of Jesus Christ to cast out such habits/addictions.

Luke 9:1-2

1When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, 2and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

Website stresses Jesus as the source of freedom from all addictions

Hi Chad,

Yes, that is indeed what the website is based on, looking to Jesus to help us turn from broken cisterns of lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, the boastful pride of life, to the living water of Jesus Christ. It is a very Christ-centered, Bible based study and definitely encourages everyone who takes it that it must be Jesus that frees us from being enslaved by these various habits we find ourselves getting snared by.

Jesus is the One who delivers and is a wonderful Savior. Savoring Him and making Him our delight, helps us not settle for the much lesser delights of wrongful (and of course food has it's place, sex within marriage is right and blessed by God, etc.) uses of God's gifts for temporary fulfillment instead of eternal fulfillment in Jesus.

I pray many more may find help and solace in Jesus and in God's Word!

Amen Chad my brother!

I have seen many,many believers
'delivered' from deomonic influence
[never possession] oppression if you
will by 'fasting'and crying out to God
to take the 'desire' away from them
to what they were being 'vexed' by!

Psalms:34:15: The eyes of the LORD
are upon the righteous, and his ears
are open unto their cry.

Psalms:101:3: I will set no wicked
thing before mine eyes:

Remember David 'saw' beautiful
Bath-sheba 'bathing' on a roof!

2Sam. 11:2: And it came to pass in
an eveningtide, that David arose from
off his bed, and walked upon the roof
of the king's house: and from theroof
he saw a woman washing herself; and
the woman was very beautiful to
look upon.

What a set-up! WDid she know David
would be there at night? Hmmm.

Sounds like a prelude to what Porn
sites do! ............ Entice!!

A lot of it has to do with Christians
giving a'place' an inroad for the enemy
to get in!

2Cor. 11:3: But I fear, lest by any
means, as the serpent beguiled Eve
through his subtilty, so your minds
should be corrupted from the
simplicity that is in Christ.

The battle ground is in the 'mind'!!

2Cor. 10:4: (For the weapons of our
warfareare not carnal, but mighty
through God to the pulling down of
strong holds;)

2Cor.10:5: Casting down
imaginations, and every high thing
that exalteth itself against the
knowledge of God, and bringing into
captivity every thought to the
obedience of Christ;

2Cor.10:6: And having in a readiness
to revenge all disobedience, when
your obedience is fulfilled.

The thought life is where Satan
enters and trys to defeat us in!

Philp:4:6: Be careful for nothing;
but in every thing by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let
your requests be made known
unto God.

Philp:4:7: And the peace of God,
which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus.

Philp:4:8: Finally, brethren,
whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good
report; if there be any virtue, and
if there be any praise,
think on these things.

A person has to 'want' the 'desire' to
be taken
away.

Psalms:51:2: Wash me throughly from
mineiniquity, and cleanse me from my
sin.

Psalms:51:7: Purge me with hyssop, and
I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be
whiter than snow.

Psalms:51:10: Create in me a clean heart,
O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

God Bless!

Your brother in Yeshua,
Joe
