Being in Christ vs Christ in me

Jesus prayed.....

John 17:21 that they may all be one, just as you, FATHER, ARE IN ME, AND I IN YOU, THAT THEY ALSO MAY BE IN US, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
John 17:22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one,
John 17:23 I IN THEM AND YOU IN ME, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.

One of the greatest revelations about God is that Jesus lives inside his Father, and that the Father lives inside his Son. We can not separate the two from each other as they are “one”. What makes God one is his Glory as we see in verse 22. “The GLORY THAT YOU HAVE GIVEN ME I HAVE GIVEN TO THEM, THAT THEY MAY BE ONE EVEN AS WE ARE ONE,”

Jesus is the Glory of the Father, and in Jesus Christ lives and dwells ALL the fullness of the Godhead “bodily.” (Col 2:8-9) God's body is his Word (Jesus) in which all of the Godhead lives in their fullness!! But, the exact next verse says....

Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Col 2:10 And YE ARE COMPLETE IN HIM, which is the head of all principality and power:

If there was ever a revelation from God's own word that is beyond our own physical understanding it is this. We are “COMPLETE” in him where all of the fullness of the godhead lives!!

2Co 5:17 Therefore, IF ANYONE IS IN CHRIST, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

What is the difference between having Christ in me, and me being in Christ?
Being in Christ means we are “complete” in him. Having no sin or sickness, and being sanctified which means “to make Holy, to make pure, to make clean” is a finished thing!!

Rom 8:29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
Rom 8:30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and THOSE WHOM HE CALLED HE ALSO JUSTIFIED, AND THOSE WHOM HE JUSTIFIED HE ALSO GLORIFIED.

If God is “light” and he is, and if there is no “darkness” in him, then there is no sin or unclean person living on the inside of God. (1 John 1:5)

On the other hand, IF CHRIST IS IN ME , and if I still stagger, and stumble into sin some times then there a big difference between being IN CHRIST where there is no sin, and CHRIST IN ME! Sanctification in this life is me “becoming Holy” through the Holy Spirit as I grow in the Lord, and in the power of his might! It is God who is at work within his body (the Church) both to will, and to do of his good pleasure. (Php 2:13) For I know that he which began a good work within me will bring it to completion until the day of the lord Jesus Christ. (Php 1:6)

Why is there such a difference between the two? Being in Christ is a finished product, while Christ in me is a ongoing process to reach the former!! Why am I not already finished? Because I do not understand, and or I do not believe in what I already am in Christ!!
The bible describes how a person can become who he already is in Christ.

2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
2Co 3:18 But WE ALL, WITH OPEN FACE BEHOLDING AS IN A GLASS THE GLORY OF THE LORD, ARE CHANGED INTO THE SAME IMAGE FROM GLORY TO GLORY, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

The word, “glass” in this verse is referring to a “mirror, to mirror oneself”. The word of God is like a mirror that reveals who that person is on the inside of us.
It is no longer “I” who lives, but Christ lives in me!! (Gal 2:20)

2Co 13:5 Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or DO YOU NOT REALIZE THIS ABOUT YOURSELVES, THAT JESUS CHRIST IS IN YOU?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!

The Lord told me many years ago, “Stop trying to be the person you are not, and start acting like the man you already are”
The man I am not is the man slowly becoming Christ like, and the man I already am is Christ in me.

Conclusion: Knowing, and understanding that CHRIST IN ME is my life, causes me to become the man I already am IN CHRIST.

Spiritual growth with Christ being in me, I will become the man I already am in Christ. The finished perfect man has alredy been completed, as I grow in the Lord

with Christ in me. The "joy" is not in the growing process, but in the knowing what I already am in Christ!!!!
