(24) A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
Of course our ultimate friend as believers, is Jesus.
But as ones who have friends, we must show ourselves friendly towards them.
Here is a comment on this, and I like sometimes to use comments, because sometimes I seem to not always have the right words.

And of course in any case, we do not compromise the word.
But in saying this, it does require effort to be a friend.
There must be efforts on both sides.
And there must be a purposefulness, or an on purpose setting of a time to get together, many times it must be purposeful.
Yes there are times we are busy, and of course there is the leading of the Spirit, although we would be surprised in how many ways the Holy Spirit leads us, and sometimes he leads us through planting a desire towards this or that.
Although it should not always be by a feeling, it must be purposeful, maybe there is a better word than purposeful, but that is the word that I have right now.
And no God is not against feelings, he gave us feelings, but we must learn to rightly apply our feelings.
God's way is not emotionalism, but neither is it feelessness.
God's gospel will produce results, and even give feelings, feelings of peace, feelings of joy and so forth, what we need to learn is how to rightly appropriate things.
So show yourself friendly to your friends.
